They’re not shaped like penises, they’re shaped like the inside of a vagina. Next question.

This is a fantastic response.

Sex toys have come a long way, fellas! Don't worry about what women are using unless those women have invited you to witness! (My current fave thing is shaped like a mouth with a tongue sticking out and I'm not even a lesbian!)

[–] moistclump 6 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Is oral for women exclusively lesbian thing now?

[–] flicker 15 points 10 months ago

Uh, no? The point I was making was that even non-lesbians are using sex toys that aren't best described as penis-shaped.

[–] [email protected] 16 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Ehhhhh, there's a non-zero amount with testicles on them

[–] [email protected] 19 points 11 months ago

Those aren't shaped like testicles, they're shaped like flared bases, for anal.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 10 months ago

That's not what the inside of a vagina looks like. The answer is that evolution caused that shape to be one that's good at causing a pleasure sensation from penetration of a vagina. However, other shapes also exist and also do this. The penis shape is just the classic option.

Because it’s not the penis we hate we just aren’t attracted to the dicks typically attached to them.

Also sex toys have evolved from just penis shaped dildos. Many of us prefer abstract shapes or stuff like finger shapes for those, but also vibrators and suction toys are popular.

Also I’m pretty sure I’ve been hearing this joke since before I hit puberty

Eh watch what you do with it and it should stay where you like it

Or I was referring to trans women who haven’t had bottom surgery. Maybe both

Flaisch macht Flaisch

[–] [email protected] 2 points 11 months ago

So you're saying theres a chance

[–] [email protected] 15 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Yeah this shit joke has been around since at least the 90s

[–] captainlezbian 13 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Yeah and I think part of why the joke annoys me is like, is that all some men think of themselves as? Like when I think of what I find particularly unattractive about men my first thought isn’t dick, it’s that smell that drives straight women crazy, it’s just such a turn off to me. There’s plenty else too, but like that joke is part of an entire class of shit that (particularly older) men say to lesbians that leaves me thinking they really need to talk to some people who are actually attracted to men about what they like, and to understand that in general even when I like the same part it being too masculine is not for me.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Very true. I'm bi and while I like dick it's not exactly the first thing that attracts me to men. I think in general the root of these kinds of jokes is the idea that deep down all women NEED men to be sexually satisfied, and a general assumption that lesbians are perpetually on the brink of "switching sides". Just more homophobia as per usual.

[–] captainlezbian 5 points 10 months ago

Yeah my favorite is the guys trying to assure us that they’re so masculine they can turn us and I’m just here like, if I absolutely had to sleep with a guy I’d pick the most feminine one I could.

And I think the real root of these jokes is insecurity in their value. If they value women for sex what value do they have to women who don’t want them for sex? And the answer is simple, it’s as a person. My friends that are men are my friends because they’re people I like to spend time with. And they’re of all orientations, but with the shared trait of being good guys. You can’t be so manly every woman wants you in bed, partly because some of us don’t want men at all but also because there are straight women and bi women who like their men effeminate or androgynous. Tastes vary so you’ll never be everyone’s type.

[–] [email protected] 94 points 11 months ago

Real answer is that it's not that they don't like dick it's that they don't like the dicks attached to them

most shitty-fucking-facebook-boomer-ass meme.

Judging by the responses, I feel I should convey I relate to the professor and absurdity is that the student would ask such dumb off-topic question.

As for the question itself, people like what they like, they don’t need to justify themselves. Which is what makes question dumb.

[–] [email protected] 27 points 11 months ago (2 children)

as a femcel college student whos never owned a sex toy (my mom looks at my credit card account and I don’t want to embarrass her) here’s my thots on this.

  1. cis lesbians probably would use fleshlights more if they had something to stick in them. maybe they could rub their clit & labia in the hole, but it still seems kinda wasteful since they’re only using the top part. it would probably be a better idea to get a grinder that vibrates

  2. we like the gock 🚀💎🍆🤲😎

[–] BottleOfAlkahest 25 points 11 months ago

So most places online that sell sex toys have very innocent names that they bill you under. They will often list it as "you will see this charged to innocent-sounding-name" so that you don't accidentally assume it's fraud on your statement.

[–] moistclump 9 points 10 months ago

You can typically buy sex toys in pharmacy stores by the condoms sections. Vibrators at least.

probably because the point isn't plastic penis but long plastic object that doesn't neccesarily have to be reminiscent of a penis

The most likely reason, I suspect, is that "mainstream" sex toys were not made for lesbians until relatively recently. They were made for hetero women diagnosed with "hysteria" and, generally, by companies run by cis-het men.

care to share the template?
