Summary

Donald Trump's name appears in Jeffrey Epstein's recently released flight logs seven times, including flights in 1993 and 1994, some with his then-wife Marla Maples and daughter Tiffany.

The documents were released by Attorney General Pam Bondi, who stated this was the first phase of disclosures regarding Epstein’s network.

Bondi requested additional FBI records on Epstein, citing thousands of undisclosed pages.

Epstein, who died in 2019, had connections to Trump, Bill Clinton, and Prince Andrew, though no wrongdoing by Trump has been alleged.

They didn't have to kill him, it doesn't have to be a conspiracy. Barr's DOJ allowed a man in a VERY high profile case that should have been on increased watch commit suicide on the eve of his bombshell testimony and going away forever. They allowed him to take his own out.

[–] pennomi 83 points 3 days ago (2 children)

The conspiracy was the missing footage, not the method of death. It was intentionally covered up.

The situation is pretty grim in American prisons. I can absolutely believe two cameras were totally busted and one bothered to fix them

Rikers Island's Deplorable Conditions: A federal monitor's report revealed unsanitary conditions at Rikers, including showers covered in mildew, infestations of roaches and flies, and broken fire safety systems. Veronica Vela of the Legal Aid Society described the jails as "rife with abuse and violence" and emphasized that these conditions reflect a lack of prioritization for humane treatment[2]. Judge Laura Taylor Swain also criticized the worsening violence, self-harm, and deaths in custody, calling the conditions "abnormal and unacceptable"[5].

  • Deaths and Overcrowding: In 2025, Rikers recorded its first death of the year, adding to a grim tally of 34 deaths since 2021. Eighty-six percent of detainees are held pretrial, presumed innocent, yet subjected to overcrowded and dangerous conditions. Advocates have called for urgent reforms to meet the legal obligation to close Rikers by 2027[8].

  • Human Rights Crisis: Over 80% of Rikers detainees have not been convicted but endure degrading conditions. Advocates like Keli Young from VOCAL-NY demand investments in housing and alternatives to incarceration to address systemic issues[9].

  • Calls for Federal Oversight: Amid these crises, advocates argue for federal receivership to improve safety and accountability. However, city officials have resisted such oversight despite mounting evidence of systemic failures[2][5].

Yeah, but this guy was special.

You think Luigi Mangione’s cameras aren’t working?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (1 children)

Yeah I think him killing himself would be great for them, any prisoner outside of a private prison killing themselves is great for them, and the infrastructure if the criminal justice system is built that way

[–] jaybone 2 points 2 days ago

I don’t think they want him killing himself. They want him out on trial so it can be a big spectacle, to show everyone how evil and guilty he is, and then show everyone the punishment that awaits. Like putting heads on spikes on the castle walls.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Except the means of his death is the conspiracy, this notion that he was murdered. This conspiracy helps shift the blame from Barr's [Trump's] DOJ to a "boogyman".

The guy had been found previously trying to hang himself with a bed sheet and was treated and put on suicide watch (someone took him off). He was then put in a cell closest to the guard station and was supposed to have a cellmate as a way to deter further attempts. The facility he was housed in was also understaffed and not really suitable for such a high profile prisoner. His cellmate was then released and was not replaced despite knowledge that he was a risk, and part of a VERY high profile case claiming to have compromising information on many high profile people. The guards on duty that night were also had been forced to work mandatory overtime (again part of the understaffing).

[–] pennomi 2 points 2 days ago

Sorry, I meant the actual conspiracy was the cover up. The conspiracy theory was the method of death.

Real life conspiracies are usually pretty boring and simply involve a coordinated effort to spin or deny a mistake as something else.

[–] finitebanjo 47 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Thats just it, he already was on 24 hour surveillance and suicide watch.

[–] [email protected] 17 points 3 days ago (2 children)

It’s the half hour that’s important, really

[–] ZoopZeZoop 5 points 3 days ago

Seriously. They didn't even need to bother with the 23.5 hours. They could have just mega-staffed that one 30-min interval. Hindsight, I guess.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 3 days ago

Or just the half second of the drop.

[–] kmartburrito 6 points 3 days ago

Epstein didn't kill himself

[–] Duamerthrax 5 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Yeah, something that seems to be getting glossed over because the conspiracy is more entertaining. He was either murdered or allowed to kill himself. Both are equally bad.

[–] ReluctantMuskrat 5 points 3 days ago (1 children)

They are both bad but they aren't equal.

[–] Duamerthrax 0 points 3 days ago (1 children)

What's the difference? Both would have resulted in the death of a man and a miscarriage of justice? Both would be caused by a direct decision.

[–] ReluctantMuskrat 6 points 3 days ago (2 children)

Because in one case Epstein decides himself to be dead. In the other Epstein doesn't want to be dead but is murdered.

[–] notsoshaihulud 0 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Because in one case Epstein decides himself to be dead.

I guess the difference is consent. Something his victims didn't get to provide either.

[–] ReluctantMuskrat 2 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I honestly am not concerned about Epstein's consent.

A murderer murdering a pedophile, and likely doing so as part of a conspiracy to protect other pedophiles, is much worse than someone deciding to look the other way while Epstein offs himself.

Epstein being dead is disappointing either way, but only because we didn't get more information from him.

[–] notsoshaihulud 0 points 3 days ago

Ok, apparently i missed the placement of the mandatory /s

[–] Duamerthrax -1 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I'm not really too concerned with Epstein's agency in all this.

[–] ReluctantMuskrat 1 points 3 days ago

I'm not concerned for Epstein at all. A murderer murdering a pedophile, and likely doing so as part of a conspiracy to protect other pedophiles, is still much worse than someone deciding to look the other way while Epstein offs himself.

[–] TheLowestStone 5 points 3 days ago (1 children)

In that situation, giving him the means and opportunity is the same things as killing him yourself.
