Ask Lemmy
A Fediverse community for open-ended, thought provoking questions
Rules: (interactive)
1) Be nice and; have fun
Doxxing, trolling, sealioning, racism, and toxicity are not welcomed in AskLemmy. Remember what your mother said: if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all. In addition, the site-wide Lemmy.world terms of service also apply here. Please familiarize yourself with them
2) All posts must end with a '?'
This is sort of like Jeopardy. Please phrase all post titles in the form of a proper question ending with ?
3) No spam
Please do not flood the community with nonsense. Actual suspected spammers will be banned on site. No astroturfing.
4) NSFW is okay, within reason
Just remember to tag posts with either a content warning or a [NSFW] tag. Overtly sexual posts are not allowed, please direct them to either [email protected] or [email protected].
NSFW comments should be restricted to posts tagged [NSFW].
5) This is not a support community.
It is not a place for 'how do I?', type questions.
If you have any questions regarding the site itself or would like to report a community, please direct them to Lemmy.world Support or email [email protected]. For other questions check our partnered communities list, or use the search function.
6) No US Politics.
Please don't post about current US Politics. If you need to do this, try [email protected] or [email protected]
Reminder: The terms of service apply here too.

@[email protected] is a meme god.
@[email protected] keeps history alive and the Confederacy in check.
@[email protected] is our resident owl afficionado.
There are many others, of course, but I seem to notice these three a lot in my Subscribed feed.
@[email protected] and @[email protected] both post a shitpile of news articles.
My dear, sweet @[email protected] posts so many science memes it makes my head spin
@[email protected] has just completely become the account keeping historical memes and historical illustration communities going, which I very much appreciate.
I'm honored to be listed with those 2 posting machines!
It always means a lot you all take the time to read my posts.
You'd get an upvote for the GGI alone from me
There is so much gold in that show! ❤️
100%. I was there from the original airing of the pilot episode through the last 22 years of multi-year breaks between seasons.
LOL a couple years ago one of my closest friends who happens to be about the furthest away from me of any of them. Shot me a message asking me to guess who they were having lunch with. I had no idea. But it turned out that she had bumped into Lisa hammer and they had been hanging out a bit. They both live up in New York near the Bronx. I may have gotten some signed Triana swag out of the deal LOL
I started during season 1 with my best friend at the time. It took me a bit to get into it, but once I was, I started back from the beginning and then it just got better every season.
Trina episodes are great. The one with the double date is one of the best. The whole set of bathroom scenes are so hilarious!
Yes would have been interesting to see if Tirana's character got a little more development had Lisa and Doc not split. But she seems to be doing well and is enjoying her work in film out there in New York. So it's all good.
But yes the rogues gallery on that show was always one of my favorites personally. The Thin White Duke as the sovereign complete with a Klaus Nomi/Iggy pop cameo in the second season finale I think it was? And all the other absurd villains and heroes they just shucked out left and right. Not to mention 21 absurd story arc.
I really hoped the baboon’s heart was king gorilla’s, meaning the return of my favorite villain.
Cigar?
King, I gotta buy my bitch back. Here's your cigarette.
F_ you, gimme a dollar!
So many great villains. 😆
You are very mich appreciated as well with your cute owl posts :) <3
I like giving you all something special every day! 🦉
Along with those already mentioned, my personal heroes are people who keep communities alive:
@[email protected] posts comics daily to [email protected] and others
@[email protected] keeps [email protected] going
@[email protected] posts regularly about [email protected]
@[email protected] has been killing it on [email protected]
Thanks but lately you and other subscribers have been posting a lot too!
Love you @[email protected], but I spazzed out recently after a full year of pressing too hard for a 'post per day,' and I feel like I dishonored everyone here when I melted down recently. (I'm super-embarrassed)
So I appreciate the mention, but regardless of how I embarrassed the community, I can't aim for one scholarly post per day, anymore. I just can't. Sorry about that, matey.
Now I do plan to keep on posting as the mood seeks me, but I just CAN'T keep the community popular like this, all on my own. Even just a little bit of help would go far.
Ugh, sorry for all the bitching and moaning. :S
Don't worry about it fam. Lemmy isn't like a news broadcast, it's more like a family dinner, it's OK to go off on a rant every once in a while. And there's no obligation to post every day, just post when you feel like it and where you feel like it. The fact is, you posted quality content a lot for a long time, and that's commendable.
@[email protected] Posts daily to [email protected]
You and everyone else who keeps communities alive are all appreciated!
I love [email protected]
There are a few other animal communities too, like [email protected]
