Always use the correct wrench or socket, and know if your nut has a right or left handed thread. Let's not bust any nuts this month.

Clearly we need to get you some proper lubricant. A good penetrating oil, perhaps.

Coupling is my favorite. It's like docking for machines

I hate wingnuts, they were always screwed on so tight when I wanted to take these off of random things as a kid. If I ever see another wingnut, it's screwed. This post reminded me of my hatred towards them, thank you, I will internalize the hate and wield it as a power of doom and destruction against the oldest-known metallic foe. #screwwings #bottomking #2023 #internalizethehate

Just get a wing nut socket/driver and treat them like any other nut.

You should make an image chart about them.

What about whatever spikes truck drivers put on their bolts? They look sharper than acorns.

They're just plastic, the real lug nuts are underneath. We have a hexagonal plastic handle to slide over to take them off before removing a wheel.

But I still want to see the Ben-hur bolts.

And unlike screw head shapes, all of them serve an actual useful purpose

need another 14 to get through the whole month.

What about cage nuts?

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 year ago

Drilled shank fasteners sounds vaguely kinky.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 year ago

Don't forget to use them with those special screws.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Might be fun to use these as search terms on rule 34

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 year ago

Does anybody want to use a coupling together? 😳 👉👈

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 year ago

I don't know what side of debates I'd take there, but the possibility it would be our own column drama like in OG r/196 brings me joy, turning my cap into an acorn.
