Omg that looks great, keep us posted.
Awesome. Goodluck on the journey!
I think mlem is the only IOS option at the moment, but I'm not 100% sure.
I'm on Android, so I'm using Jerboa, and it's solid enough so far. Still has hiccups, but it's coping for the most part.
I thought it would be more painful to abandon reddit but jerboa and the explosion of content today has me less worried. I think reddit is now in serious trouble.
Jerboa is surprisingly good at the moment. Simple to use, some bugs but nothing serious so far.
Its missing some features that you can only find on the web version and the error popups annoyed me. I'm using the browser version
I see people mention mlem a lot, but I don't see it in the App Store. Is it only for jailbroken devices? Not willing to jailbreak my daily driver, though I do have a jailbroken testing phone
It’s in open beta, you can get it via TestFlight. https://join-lemmy.org/apps
Ah that explains it. I think I can wait for it's official release
Don't know about iOS but for android folks, I've been using Jerboa. It's in alpha I think but been pretty good!
I'm using Jerboa right now. Pretty solid for an alpha.
I think its just best to add it to the home screen as a bookmark. The apps are not the best so far( for example links to other servers crash the app). Im sure theyll get better with time.
I'll do that for the time being.
One option you could consider is to use Hermit - it's just a wrapper for websites, but it allows a fair bit of customisation, and gives you a site-specific icon to tap instead of having to go into your browser and enter the URL or open a bookmark.
I'm happy in Jerboa, but if you want something different Hermit is worth a look.
EDIT - crap, sorry, I didn't notice you were on iOS, I think Hermit is Android only. I'll leave the comment in case it helps anyone else though.
I'm just using web browser for now (Firefox on Android). I saw Android has jerboa, but I haven't tried it yet.
Jeboa doesn't work that great right now
My only issue with it is that I can't directly reply to replies in my inbox and have to go to the replying person's comments to respond. Tedious but I assume it'll be fixed.
Ha, I was wondering if that was just me not understanding how the app worked!
Still, for an alpha release, pretty darned good I think.
Hey OP, you can join the testflight Program (Beta Version) of MLEM right here:
Should have read the whole thing… nope sorry not aware if anything else atm.
Does this app alert you to when you have been replied to? I dont seem able to view my own comment history
Sadly not, and I also don't have access to my Alertbox in the App (yet, I assume)
I´m using Jerboa for android right now, I really like it but it is quite new and feels like it
Thunder is good, I use it on Android but it also has iOS support
