They should have had one person stand up and interrupt and have them escorted out every 10min.

His entire speech would be ignored by the media. No one would have the patience to watch the entire thing. The conversation would be 100% about dem's disruption and republicans whining about it.
This would be such a great protest action, if only Dems had half a brain and could organize themselves. Unfortunately their donors are giving money to republicans this cycle, so without those people telling Dems what to do, they simply don’t have any plan. It’s truly pathetic.
Alternatively, all Dems could have stayed completely absent from this joint address. Having their half of the aisle totally empty and just leaving it to the Republican pep rally it was would have been more powerful than the stupid stickers.
Or, pick one or two egregious things Trump said, and have 10-12 top Dems go on all the news shows the following day to lambast him. “These bastards are cutting funding for cancer research! Why don’t they want us to find cures for cancer?!” Not only is this a true and valid criticism of the irresponsible cuts, this would make a huge wave in the media if a bunch of them did it at the same time, but they’re just too damn feckless.
Here’s the thing though: the end goal of all this madness is a $4.5 trillion tax cut for the rich. That’s literally all Trump wants to do, in addition to grifting millions for himself along the way. Guess who is an incredibly rich body due to their rampant insider trading (legal for them btw), and insane level of corrupt bribe money flowing in? Yep, the Dems. So perhaps they’re incentivized to not fight back too hard on this agenda after all.
This administration has been a great view into our manufactured political division.
To say it very clearly and bluntly, our governing system has been hijacked by corporate interests, it's been this way for a while, but for most of the modern age they've been good at "hedging their bets" and supporting both sides of the political spectrum, because they know society swings back and forth with regularity, and they just want to make sure they're always on the winning side.
When people checked out of political involvement in the last couple decades, it's allowed the most corrupt and motivated thieves to organize and consolidate power, and yes the money followed them, and they are far less careful about showing their intentions. We had the whole panel of oligarchs attending the last inauguration like they're one of the branches of government. They are treating this broken election like a mandate and they just totally abandoned the Democratic party and it shows. They have no money coming in, no marching orders, nobody is keeping their fire lit for the next shift because they're going all-in on the idea of a fascist takeover of the country. Because that would be great for profits.
You got it imo. People checked out because politics are boring....Yet now that they're far from boring this is what we end up with. Politics should be boring and boring isn't a good enough reason to check out. Everyone was so obsessed with their own petty little lives and could care less about the consequences of elections. This opened the door for school boards to be taken over and local elections to go red around the whole country. Because assholes got bored we all have to pay the price. The entire globe will pay the price because people had more important things to do with their lives.....
Completely agree and people really need to understand this. Democrat politicians are not on our side.
I still vote for them over Republican ones generally, but folks need to understand. It's really us and the Trump voters vs. the rich and their politicians, Republican vs Democrat is a distraction to keep us busy.

Just one after another. Give Trump a little time to get in the groove again and then disrupt. It is the least these people could be doing. They said Trump was a fascist. They aren’t acting like it
I would have remembered the entire democratic party walking out even more. The speech is just a pep rally for the incumbent party. Why are they expected to sit through it. Before efficient mass communication, it made some sense. And the content mattered more. But now? No one expects me to sit through the prp rally of my opponent before the big game. And make no mistake, politics is just a game to them.

The rep should grow some courage. To both sides, if one disagrees with the bullies it's their duty to step in.

Texas representative Al Green stood up during Trump's address to Congress Tuesday night and yelled that the president had no mandate to cut Medicaid to refute Trump's claims. He was then removed by the sargent at arms as ordered by Speaker Johnson.

Hell yeah. I'm making trouble at every turn and if you're in the US and you reasonably can you should be protesting at a minimum. Keeping your head down and hoping for the best isn't an option anymore. To be silent is to be complicit.
