Also not a true democrat, not corrupt enough. The Democratic party leadera sidelined and ignored him in fear of real changes he would bring years ago.

[–] [email protected] 19 points 4 days ago

People also forget that he's legitimately not a democrat. Bernie Sanders is an independent, he joined the democratic party when he was running for president but left afterwards.

We need to clone him into different versions.

we desperately need a workers party in this country. Bernie can't do it alone though. what can we do?

when will people snap and say '"enough is enough, we refuse to be poor and exploited". when will we empower a cross racial coalition the likes of which King and Hampton were murdered to prevent?

i just hope to see it in my lifetime.... but i have my doubts.

the future is looking bloodier by the minute.

When they no longer have their bread and circuses. Or, in the modern day, McDonald's and Netflix.

2 party system has to be broken!

The issue is, if you were to lead a 3rd party you would probably share the votes with the dems, since the coward fucks too would desperately cling to power leading to the losing the election for both parties…

[–] [email protected] 4 points 4 days ago

Well I think we've seen that it's already broken. It was broken years or decades ago and certainly by 2016.

We have a few options at our disposal:

  1. Joining and organizing within your local community to create connections with others is incredibly powerful, will make the coming months much more bearable, and lay the ground work for effective resistance.
  2. We can still effect things drastically with a general strike. This massively impacts their income streams, and can bring the country to its knees if done on a large enough scale.
  3. Join the IWW and attempt to unionize your workplace, so that the general strike is even more effective.

If we put in the work, we can resist this and we can win. Don't become paralyzed with doubt and fear, march on and push as much you can. Together we're strong, separated we are weak. So join up with allies while we still can easily!

We can run for office! Except we're all busy working ourselves to death and living on shit pay. Really takes the momentum out from a lot of us--which is the point :c

[–] Snowclone 32 points 4 days ago (1 children)

This is like when they used 'slammed' to mean 'disagreed' but by 'paralyzed' they mean 'complicit'

[–] [email protected] 7 points 4 days ago (2 children)

Complicit inasmuch as them wrongly assuming that simply sitting by and letting it all burn is going to mean an easy and assured midterm victory.

You can't win an election when there's no country left.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 4 days ago (1 children)

I don't think that's deep enough. I think they're on the same payroll as Trump's team.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Pepsi and Coke aren't on the same payroll, but they do a lot to convince you that there's only two options, and the other one is trash that will ruin your life.

It's in the interest of both to shape your thoughts into believing that it's either-or, because on a world of limitless free choice, no one would rational pick either of them at all. Limiting competition into a semi-collusive self-reinforcing duopoly is illegal when both sides sell things. When they sell ideas, it's not illegal.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Broken analogy.

Coke is here saying that only people like Coke. Pepsi sitting around their thumb up their ass going I got nothin'

The vast majority of our government is currently not trying to stop this, even the people that are supposed to be in the other side are basically doing nothing.

You can't belittle this by calling it the cola wars. I'm pretty sure we're good and boned on both sides based on their actions.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Well, I would say you aren't effectively understanding the D stance of "let them burn it down and then we're the only alternative."

Also, it's that cola wars is a binary choice everyone understands.

Coke is telling people that everyone only loves Coke while they use colorized Holocaust videos and the worst disco tracks in their commercials. Pepsi is sitting around saying "Don't do anything, don't say anything, and all these unforced errors will push everyone to us eventually. We can even save money by not doing advertising campaigns right now. We don't need to do anything."

Which is a damn fool thing to do. But that's the best play for Dems. Not for Americans. And it's how, mark my words, that the 2026 midterms won't be some Blue Wave bloodbath, and the GOP might very well retain the Senate at the very least, maybe even the House, pushing them harder to the right.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 4 days ago (1 children)

“let them burn it down and then we’re the only alternative.”

Nobody is burning shit down. They're installing 1984. They'd be standing in line in front of the apple store that closed down permanently.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 3 days ago

Lol, OK.

Meanwhile, the Broligarchy is just working out the details.

Its only 1984 if you are living in Praxis. Everyone else is sent back to the medieval era, but with smartphones.

[–] Snowclone 2 points 3 days ago (1 children)

No I personally think they're literally complicit. I'm not saying every single party member, but the ones who are not fighting any of this are doing it because it benifits them personally.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 3 days ago

Yes, I understand you think that, and I disagree with you.

Please see the first comment of mine, and now we have a perfect circle.

[–] [email protected] 28 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago)

Funny how the majority only seem to give him attention when they're scared, rather than having the likes of Sanders be the example. But hey at least life is like a reality show

[–] [email protected] 25 points 4 days ago

Hes the only opposing the system and not playing in it.

[–] RememberTheApollo_ 4 points 3 days ago

They’re still trying to negotiate with Hitler and save their own asses.

[–] [email protected] 12 points 4 days ago (1 children)

I just saw an old interview on a college campus asking millennials what they think about bernie. A couple says he needed to be a minority, other person said he needed to be a poc and woman, one said he's too progressive, i wonder what their responses are now.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 3 days ago

Remember the time BLM protesters disrupted Bernie's primary rally in 2015?

I hope Bernie doesn't get sent to a Trump brand Patriotic Reeducation Camp. He's the only politician that I feel like actually cares about the common man.
