The "solo" lady gives Tanya from command and conquer vibes.

PTSD from playing RA1 online on a large map and hearing that laugh from a side of the map you've not explored yet

No need for interaction and cooperation if you can solo everything. Some games work without that but shooters really dont.

one of the biggest reason i love great co-op games (eg helldivers) is because they also make for some of the most intense solo experiences. very few singleplayer games can accurately replicate the triumph of solo’ing something designed for 4 players.

Though co-op games usually adjust difficulty based on the number of players (usually by scaling the number of enemies)

I think they mean those intense moments when you are the sole survivor and no revives left on the team. There are few better feelings than succeeding in those scenarios.

There is a game called Foxhole that is basically the premise of this meme. The gameplay isn't glamorous, the controls are clunky, and half the time you die before you can do anything meaningful. And yet, something keeps bringing me back to it.

That sounds like an actual battle, then.

Doom guy vs SCP:SL soldier

small rant about SCP: Secret Labs:
At first I thought SCP:SL was super boring and didn't understand why people liked it but slowly over time I understand that it gives a lot of dopamine to barely escape within an inch of your life from all powerful monsters. The RNG of items and instantly turning movement also tickles my monkey brain for dopamine.
The weapons are horrible but it's kinda a good bad?
The 'VoiceChat only' part is really interesting, it's a lot different than any other game I've played as you can hear emotions too (I don't play a lot of VC games).
The respawns take forever and there's naturally those gamers but its fun overall.

The respawns take forever

They take much less time now, but back when respawns took 10 minutes instead of 3, I used to do homework/work between rounds.

I got a TON of work done that way.
