Deafness covers a broad spectrum of hearing difficulty, not just completely deaf. Most people that identify as deaf still have some hearing. I always forget that and had the same question as you until I read a comment further down.

It's likely that the person isn't fully deaf and so can still hear some music, but deaf enough that they can't understand the lyrics. Having the ability to view the lyrics in real time is handy rather than having to search them up all the time. Spotify also shows what lyric is currently being sung in real time, whereas you can't get that with a Google search.

I have a steam deck... And a gaming PC! 🀯 I plug the steam deck into my TV with a couple of controllers, and now I have a "console" with all my steam games on it that I can use to play local multiplayer games with my partner. It's also great to take when visiting family

That's so wild. I met one person and I was just following them around to see where the "AI" was taking them. I thought it was very advanced for an older game πŸ˜… I think I may not be the smartest

'*' is commonly used for multiplication in computer programming, so it's probably that. Also in your calculator app

Several bisexual people I know call themselves gay. I also assumed bisexual was included. I think it's a more general term these days

I agree. However, to me, something feels wrong about companies making money selling a product to people with the promise that they work when they don't actually do anything in and of themselves. It's false advertising plus taking money out of people's pockets.

If it was "die instantly," then I would definitely press it. However, it says "die a gruesome death," which kinda scares me, so I'm not sure if I would...

Mine is OOO for Out Of Office. I always misread it in my head like a ghost and it takes me a few seconds to process. It also doesn't translate to speechβ€”you have to say the whole thing.

Interested to see if others have similar acronyms they beef with.

Hi, I recently moved apartment and started skateboarding to work. I have a nickel board, so more for cruising than tricks.

My question is: what's the best way to slow down and stop on sidewalks?

I've watched several YouTube videos about different techniques for slowing down and stopping, but they tended to assume an environment with more room and smooth ground. Where I ride, it's a sidewalk with cracks and leaves and changing terrain. It is also somewhat hilly so I really need a way to slow down on sustained (not steep though) downhills.

One of the best techniques I found was called pumping, basically the opposite of pushing. This works well on any terrain and on skinny sidewalks. However, it's really hard on my ankles, and I actually made my right ankle swollen. So I figured I need a better way.

I don't particularly want to use techniques that scrape my shoes. And I'm not sure powerslides are the best idea on the uneven terrain.

Surely there's something better than just dismounting? Do I have to ride on the road to do powerslides?

I would greatly appreciate any and all advice!! I'm quite new to this so anything is helpful
