The Biden administration on Wednesday plans to accuse Russia of a sustained effort to influence the 2024 US elections by using Kremlin-run media and other online platforms to target US voters with disinformation, six sources familiar with the matter told CNN.

It’s expected the US will make a series of moves on Wednesday aimed at addressing the Kremlin’s efforts including the White House publicly condemning the actions and the Justice Department announcing law enforcement action targeting the covert Russian campaign, the sources said.

"I'm sick of accepting the status quo anymore. I'm voting third party this year and it feels AWESOME!"

[–] Cosmonauticus 5 points 2 months ago

The fact this is a anti-voting talking point is incredibly sad...

[–] elliot_crane 3 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Isn’t it sad that I, and probably plenty others, could list off name after name after name that has used these exact lines on Lemmy? And yet they think we don’t see exactly what they’re up to.

Oh absolutely!

I support giving Ukraine longer range missles and a few extras and just maybe dropping a map with the Russian cyber warfare centers circled. That solves our problem and their problem.

[–] faltryka 8 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I know it’s not feasible, but diverting all of our military aid from Israel to Ukraine would be amazing.

[–] mean_bean279 2 points 2 months ago

Fuck yeah. I’m in support of that. I’d like to stop both hostile land grabs, Ukraine, and the West Bank. Cutting off US support beyond weapons for Israel too until they back off the West Bank and negotiate legitimately for the release of hostages.

[–] Rapidcreek 1 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I think they probably have enough problems and don't need any of ours.

[–] mean_bean279 1 points 2 months ago

Two birds, one stone. They need missiles, and we need less Russian Cyber Threats. I see this as an absolute win. Plus a few extra missiles in a barrage attack would overload their defenses and make it more likely various attacks are successful.

Biden won’t make Obama’s mistake and ask McConnell’s permission. Or, maybe he did and the turtle said "Go ahead"

[–] [email protected] 7 points 2 months ago

Moscow Mitch? The turtle loves his rubles.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 2 months ago (1 children)

That Russia could pull this off in the first place is more a reflection of us than them. Let's fix those problems.

An uneducated public helps the people in power

[–] [email protected] 6 points 2 months ago

wtf is this limpdick “sanctions” stuff?

How about just deny Ukrainian airspace to any Russian airborne asset? And disable or destroy any platform firing into Ukrainian airspace?

Honestly I feel like Biden just can’t wrap his head around the nature of what Putin is.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 2 months ago

What’s the point really? Nothing will be done about it. The all-too-familiar sound of saber rattling is beginning to fall on deaf ears.

[–] ripcord 2 points 2 months ago

Oh, good, Biden is finally accusing him and thinking about maybe actually doing something!

[–] Coreidan 1 points 2 months ago

That’ll teach em!!! /s

The US should do everything within its power to curtail enemy states' efforts at election interference...except complaining. The US has no right to complain.
