Wow he really looks like Tucker Carlson in that picture. Made me double take.

He’s kind of right though, if you’re interested in understanding the flaw of your approach here you might try to read up on “The fallacy of composition” which is the fundamental logical flaw you’re sitting on at the moment that the responder is taking issue with, albeit impolitely.

That looks so deeply and perpetually uncomfortable.

I view burned tobacco products like cigarettes, vapes, and “heat not burn” devices like IQOS as a scale of harm, where the most harm is burned tobacco, and the lowest is non participation.

Vaping is WAY closer to non participation than it is to burned tobacco, and I suspect HNB devices are similarly way closer to NP than BTP as well, just not as close as vaping.

When they’re marketed to existing smokers, I think vaping and HNB devices are net goods, they improve people’s health outcomes. They can also be a gateway to cessation, or a step along the way. That’s how I quit smoking a long time ago when vapes first came out.

Full disclosure, while I don’t work directly for the tobacco industry, I do do some work on youth prevention technology for some of these types of products.

This is constantly where my headspace is for any public statements by people, companies, or politicians.

I don’t judge people by their words, I judge them by their actions, and that makes the world make so much more sense.

Most of western Kansas is super flat. The flint hills have their own attraction though for sure, I didn’t expect to see someone mention them!

Read the article, nothing earth shattering. Key message is that AI doesn’t yet have a killer app.

You know… as common as it is to label and group and classify people online, I just don’t think that generally works the vast majority of the time.

Insurance companies don’t bill people as adults until 26 because our brains don’t finish developing fully until then and we make poorer choices in a statistically significant way until then.

So while the legal age of adulthood is often late teens to early twenties, the reality is you still probably act young in a way that older people pick up on.

When I was 21 I felt like I was an adult. But I wasn’t even finished growing, and looking back from 40 I was young and dumb and it was obvious to everyone but me.

I’m in San Francisco for a few days for work and would love to try a waymo self driving ride. Anyone have any invite codes I can use?

Super appreciate it if anyone does!
