This has bugged me forever, because, surprisingly, Tighten is correct.

There is no Queen and no King of England, the title was abolished in 1707 with the Acts of Union, when England and Scotland were joined into the Kingdom of Great Britain.

Accordingly the correct title is: The King / Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland

There hasn't been a Queen of England since 1 May 1707.

However there is a king of Scotland:

...and before the day is out a couple people are going to be missing fingers or hands!

Its a guarantee.

July 4th: There is no Queen of England.

Next May the 4th: Somehow Elizabeth returned.

Queen Anne was the last Queen of England before the union.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Yes but did she make a secret clone army?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 5 months ago

We may never know

Now that the queen is dead everything titan said is now completely true

[–] WhiskyTangoFoxtrot 3 points 5 months ago

It was true then, too. There hasn't been a monarch of England since 1707.

But now there is a king of USA.

recent supreme court rulings make a president immune to prosecution for "official acts", so all the treason trump did while in office is ok according to the supreme court.

Happy treason day! My ancestors fought to make sure we didn't have to live under a monarch. SCOTUS would do well to remember that.

Isn't Elton the Queen now?

[–] GoosLife 1 points 5 months ago

I'm voting yes

[–] PP_BOY_ 5 points 5 months ago

What did Tighten know that we didn't?

[–] [email protected] 5 points 5 months ago (2 children)

Isn't the king's wife the queen? Like, I know that the queen's husband wasn't the king, because that would have meant he ranked higher or something like that. But that wouldn't be an issue the other way around, because sexism. Wasn't it something like that?

[–] pyre 12 points 5 months ago (1 children)

if it helps clear the confusion: they're all illegitimate inbred cunts who need to be kicked out

[–] [email protected] 3 points 5 months ago

That's a given.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 5 months ago

Yes. 'Queen Regnant' and 'Queen Consort' can distinguish between the two.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 5 months ago

I remember the queen dying and the Easter bunny but I thought the tooth fairy was still alive?

[–] psmgx 2 points 5 months ago (2 children)

There is a King of England, though

[–] [email protected] 4 points 5 months ago

No

Tighten is correct.

[–] Zorque 2 points 5 months ago (1 children)

And his wife is also the Queen of England.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Wait, really? I thought she was called something else, since the Queen's husband was called the Prince concert.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 5 months ago* (last edited 5 months ago) (1 children)

Prince ~~concert~~ consort

FTFY

Camilla had the title of Queen consort, but the 'consort' was dropped the day she, and Charles, were coronated.

Her 'Queen' is nothing like Elisabeth's 'Queen'.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Ugh, there's always something I miss with voice to text. So why was she the queen consort (and then queen) instead of the princess consort, like Elizabeth's husband was the Prince consort (and stayed Prince consort)?

[–] Zorque 4 points 5 months ago

Because in that archaic system, Kings are greater than Queens, so if Phillip was King instead of Prince Consort, he would have outranked Elizabeth.
