I've stumbled into the genre dreamcore or weirdcore. I love the feeling it gives, reminds me of white/brown noise

Check out Boards of Canada. Lots of their stuff is like this.

Yeah, the word drones was something I remembered latenly

Hmm maybe William Basinski? He kinda has droney stuff that fuzzes out and goes on for a long time with piano fragments and stuff. I find his stuff very relaxing personally.

I think a correlation here is also the fact that it's video game music, which tends to be very repetitive but engaging.

So you might want to explore other popular retro video game soundtracks, because a lot of them will have a similar feel as the track you posted.

You've heard this, haven't you?

It's more... "up-beat" than what you posted, but the vibe isn't 100% dissimilar.

I'd just ask gpt to tell me what genre it is and give me the record label who signed them and then look at other bands signed under their label.

Like with Metropolis Records

Its from Earthbound for SNES but I mean more genre-wise, like what its similar to and anything that can be commented about it.

I know the composer is an eclectic Japanese musician who has a band called Moonriders or something but I'm more interested in the specific piece
