So I naturally assumed this was a teenager.

Thomas Humphrey, 47, was sentenced Tuesday after pleading guilty to second-degree murder and arson in the November death of Linda Tufts, 70, inside their Goffstown home.

Oh. Well, surely he's not a stereotype....

...Humphrey, who lived in the basement, ...

I mean, there's nothing wrong with that (and in this economy, totally understandable), but geez, try not to tick all the boxes.

Don't worry, he's moving out of the basement now 👍

Probably not where he was planning on going in the long run, but hey, I'm sure the other inmates will enjoy his company...

Edit: Oh shit, reading further into the article, dude lit his mother's body on fire after stabbing her? What the actual fuck? Yeah, he ain't gonna last long in prison..

He lit her on fire, and then stabbed himself.

Plus the playstation was his birthday gift.

He'd have to be playing it really loudly to start an argument if he wasn't living at home.

[–] [email protected] 15 points 8 months ago (1 children)

Or for a 70-year old to think it's too loud.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 8 months ago

And in the basement! How hard is it to get some cheap headphones so you can listen as loud as you want?

Not saying it excuses the crime but it sounds like someone with mental issues.

My guess is he'll get all the mental health treatment where he's bound /s

Wish the article explained more of what happened

Well, he stabbed his mother to death, burned her body and (seemingly) tried to commit suicide.

I think it’s not that far fetched to assume he has mental issues.

Makes me sorta curious just what video game he was playing. Not like it really matters, there's absolutely no excuse, but seriously where the fuck was his mind at to do such a terrible thing, to his own mother no less?

5 bucks on counter strike. Another 5 on league of legends.

I like where you place your bets. I'm inclined to agree, either those or Rainbow Six. Maybe WoW

[–] Archelon 3 points 8 months ago

I can only imagine it being Little Big Planet

So which position in Trump's cabinet is this guy up for?

[–] [email protected] 14 points 8 months ago* (last edited 8 months ago) (1 children)

I mean, if you're gonna commit matricide, the volume of your video game is probably about as reasonable as you're capable of being.

Edit:

The prosecutor said the two had recently argued about how loud he was playing video games on the PlayStation she had just given him for his birthday, WMUR-TV reported.

Oh, fucking hell… she'd just gifted it to him and then this happens. Lesson learned: never buy gifts for your kids.

[–] Starkstruck 3 points 8 months ago

Also he was 47 💀

[–] [email protected] 10 points 8 months ago

There'll be no tendies where he is going.

I have some 2nd cousins that failed to launch. Always terrified me that I could be the same and would have to live with that shame.

[–] Alexstarfire 3 points 8 months ago

Got a 40ish y/o first cousin that's never had a job. Gonna be very interesting when her parents pass.

Sounds like Joel Guy Jr without the Wile E Coyote level planning skills.
