What an insanely stupid reason to vote for someone.
Ask Lemmy
A Fediverse community for open-ended, thought provoking questions
Rules: (interactive)
1) Be nice and; have fun
Doxxing, trolling, sealioning, racism, and toxicity are not welcomed in AskLemmy. Remember what your mother said: if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all. In addition, the site-wide Lemmy.world terms of service also apply here. Please familiarize yourself with them
2) All posts must end with a '?'
This is sort of like Jeopardy. Please phrase all post titles in the form of a proper question ending with ?
3) No spam
Please do not flood the community with nonsense. Actual suspected spammers will be banned on site. No astroturfing.
4) NSFW is okay, within reason
Just remember to tag posts with either a content warning or a [NSFW] tag. Overtly sexual posts are not allowed, please direct them to either [email protected] or [email protected].
NSFW comments should be restricted to posts tagged [NSFW].
5) This is not a support community.
It is not a place for 'how do I?', type questions.
If you have any questions regarding the site itself or would like to report a community, please direct them to Lemmy.world Support or email [email protected]. For other questions check our partnered communities list, or use the search function.
6) No US Politics.
Please don't post about current US Politics. If you need to do this, try [email protected] or [email protected]

Accelerationism is a weakness of those who don't have the courage to do what it takes to better society. Cowards who would rather destroy than try to create, because they have no creativity of their own and lash out in ignorance when people try to explain it to them.
Vote for who you want, but it's clear you don't give a fuck about anything in your thoughtless rant. But at least try to improve your local community. Maybe having a bit of human connection will break the childishness of thought and actions shown in this post.
Thanks to voters like you for Brexit then I guess.
Sure we're all stupid, but I'm putting my money and energy into what I want to make better, rather than worse. Sometimes that drive to do better comes from spite.
I vote and tell others to online here and in real life, I attend city council meetings for the stuff I care about (transit), I go out and meet the poor and suffering where they are and donate to my local food bank. When I boycot something I stick to it. When a platform turns too shitty I find ways to get away from it (Lemmy), or at least get it to arms length (Matrix/Beeper).
Issue is, there's only so many things that I can be not complacent about. The Gaza war is terrible and I talk about it often, yet it's just a situation I can't see a way I can convince the US to hold Israel to account no matter what I do. Rents, affordability, climate, there's stuff I care about but when I am back from my full time job there's just no more room to think about how the world is fucked 10 ways from Sunday, and my mental health is better for not focusing on things I can't fix.
Imagine you're in a hotel where the bedsheets are a little too itchy for your liking. So you decide to protest these sheets by pissing all over them. And it's a foul pee, absolutely reeks and probably reflects an unchecked medical issue. That'll punish the hotel for the sin of uncomfortable sheets.
Except it's a 4 night stay, and you still need to sleep in that bed. And the shower isn't as effective as you might have hoped.
That's what voting for Trump to punish stupidity is like.
The people most impacted by a Trump presidency are going to be minorities who largely didn’t vote for him, not the people you’re mad at. Drooling over collective punishment when presidential elections usually come within a few percentage points each election also isn’t a good look.
Maybe you should talk to someone about why you feel so vindictive towards people for not changing society in the way that you see fit.
speaking of idiocy. you will have to live through the consequences.
I want to fart on the meringue of every lemon meringue pie.
Not because I hate them but because I want to destroy something beautiful.
Angry voting has never helped with anything. It would be like setting your house on fire because the neighbor's music is too loud for your taste.
Voting is not what you think it is. I encourage you on re-evaluating that.
I'd prefer to use my vote with stupid optimism that things may get better instead of 'punishing' society because people are, for the most part, dumb as fuck. I believe things can improve. I'm not going to let self destructive sentiment win out even in dark times.
No, I'm not antisocial.
wow, you are a terrible human being who would rather ve complicit in a genocide of LGBTQ people, than do something to.better the world and the environmebt around you. One thing I can say to you is go fuck yourself.
Unless you live in a swing state, who you vote for for President probably won't have much chance of affecting the outcome anyway.

That's Nevada, Arizona, Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Georgia.
By the way, in case you idiots don't get it, the reason I'm not directly responding to you anymore is that I've long blocked you. I see your spiteful little downvotes, oh boo-hoo, don't care. Such a reddit thing to do. I see notifications but I clear them because I know you've got nothing useful to say anymore besides how much you've allowed Trump to live rent free in your head.
