I was there once. It's the elusive "Outdoors" everyone talks about. Ngl, would like to visit again, but the stress...

I’m a world class nerd and reclusive millennial but fishing and going to the river is the one outdoor destination that actually purge my stress levels.
I am 200% there with you. I got crazy into fishing because of that kind of experience. It's pure calm ontop of doing the honestly incredibly nerdy thing of trying to match lures to conditions like water color, temperature, time of day, season, etc. And at the end of the day, even if you caught nothing, you had the incredible experience of being able to sit, relaxe, and breathe.
Haaaa yeah the lure thing… I do the same across the board xD I also try to catch all possible fish species at every location with all possible techniques. It’s very very soothing.
In my experience, once you're there and sit down for a few minutes and let your mind wander the stress disappears entirely. Even better if you lay back on some moss and dip your toes in a stream.
I was just trying to be funny, as i love nature and your picture inspired me to take a hike tomorrow. I've been sitting too much in front of the screen, as a developer it's unavoidable, that's why it may be even more so important to stay active, exercise and to touch grass.
Edit: yes, just letting the view sink in, seems to spark a lot of positive things in your body chemistry. I didn't remember the source, but it also stated that the "awesomeness" of view relates to the level said body chemistry responds.
When i lived in Brazil, i had the view of the ocean, until the horizon, from my balcony. The sight of the coast is incredible. It was possible to observe a Storm hundreds of miles away, making its way down, while we were enjoying the beach, the storm would take at least a day to reach our location.
Just remembering and picturing the vast ocean gives me comfort and ease of mind.
I also miss a spontaneous surfing spot, a few meters away from home, but I'm sure i would fail so hard, if I tried riding a wave, after 30 years not doing so.
Personally I find “out in the woods” to be the opposite of stressful. Quite serene, really. Nobody else is there, lots of nice sounds, nothing trying to vie for your attention or get you to spend money. No judgement, no social competition. It’s what I miss the most after moving to the city.
That looks like a river to me. Hope that helps!
You never photograph the same river twice.
Man, my best photo from 2009 is this one. https://imgur.com/a/xHwQW8o
Um...why did I get this warning when I clicked your link...?
Oh shit, I should have warned you. It does indeed have immense amounts of porn. Do not click it.
This comes close to SCP vibes.
That's a picture of my son grinning, but I understand, and if he knew I posted that, he probably would too.
Looks like you are replying to someone I have already blocked. If that's the case, give up and move on.
I get that, but just because you assume he would consent doesn't mean implied consent.
True, but he, and all of my children have repeatedly given me blanket consent to post their likenesses on the Internet. Just because I haven't chosen to actually do that, doesn't mean that I am disrespecting their consent, right?
Dude... that's incoherent. If I'm understanding you correctly, you're saying that your kids gave you consent, that you choose not to exercise but also, you have kinda lost me here.
If it was taken by a cell phone, chances are that the exif data would have the GPS location.
Clearly it's Earth. Just look at all that water.
Earth 1 or Earth 2?
The mythical realm called "outside."
GeoSpy.ai says Bryson City, NC
I was gonna guess Appalachian region
Time to ask rainbolt where this is!
In times like this, we turn to Cernunnos.
Cernunnos (praise be) where exactly is this?
Cernunnos: "Pfffffff- ehhhh- fffffffuckin'... Uhhh..."
The northeast USA looks a lot like this in early fall. Any chance it's up there?
i love how when you zoom in it immediately becomes pixel art. i wish my bad phone camera was this sharp
This picture looks like riversides, they're full of water and trees.
(Very obscure reference to the Strong Bad Emails)
Thank you.
Looks like New England water and banks, if this is western hemisphere.
