Boromir wouldn't evade taxes, he'd gladly pay them to help his people.

Yeah. I feel like they could have picked someone better for that. Like his dad would have been a better pick. Even if he was the king. I could see Wormtongue avoiding taxes, but in a really scummy way. But I don't think Boromir would be the best pick.
