They can't piss off the cult.
It's amusing how they all spend time campaigning for Trump as they pretend to campaign for themselves.

They can't piss off the cult.

They've been campaigning to be Trump's VP pick all this time.
The joke's on them, though: I think he will pick Elise Stefanik. She's the only Republican who has ruined more Universities than he has.
I think he will either pick Kari Lake or Vivek Ramaswamy. I think he personally wants Vivek based on how he keeps saying what a great guy Vivek is and because he "doesn't like losers," but I am guessing Kari Lake is being pushed hard as what I am sure they think of as "competition" with Kamala Harris for women's votes.
We all know that Trump won't make that decision until the last minute, likely swayed by the last person to talk to him. But if Trump is told he needs to pick a woman, he would go with Stefanik over Lake. Stefanik hasn't lost an election, has stood up for him in Congress, and most importantly, is around Ivanka's age (a bit younger even), so is more likely to be his "type"....
Maybe he’ll make a reality show that all the networks will kill to buy.
DeSantis briefly looked up from licking Trump's shoes and said "I'm almost through the outer layer; he's gonna hate that," before returning to his distasteful task.
Next he plans on sending Trump a McChicken, because he doesn't like those as much as the berders. That should send the message loud and clear!
Masterfully done.
I mean, it's not like he's going to send him a whopper, that's crazy talk.
"Because I'm an abject coward who is terrified of his deranged cult members, you silly goose."
He is trying to avoid getting purged if Trump wins
Either wanting to be the VP or afraid of supporters of him.
The answer, of course, is that he hopes to pick up Trump supporters in the event of Trump suddenly dropping dead. We can call this the Big Mac route to the Presidency. And it's why DeSantis and Haley are mostly going after each other.
This is the best summary I could come up with:
A voter in Iowa pressed Republican presidential candidate Ron DeSantis on Wednesday over why he hasn’t directly “gone after” former President Trump, citing DeSantis’s falling poll numbers.
The voter, in the audience of a campaign stop in Waukee, Iowa, asked DeSantis, “One, why haven’t you gone directly after him [Trump]?
The voter interrupted with multiple “no’s” to indicate this is not what he implied before pointing to Trump’s criticism of Carly Fiorina, who he once called “horse face.”
DeSantis, along with some of his rivals in the GOP primary race, has faced criticism over what some perceive as not strong enough attacks on Trump, who maintains a comfortable lead in the GOP primary polls.
DeSantis has struggled to make a significant dent in Trump’s lead and recently saw his second place standing in the race threatened by the surge of former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley.
When it comes to general election polling, Trump and President Biden remain virtually in a dead heat, though Trump appears to be taking a slight lead in some recent surveys.
