Rules: (interactive)
1) Be nice and; have fun
Doxxing, trolling, sealioning, racism, and toxicity are not welcomed in AskLemmy. Remember what your mother said: if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all. In addition, the site-wide Lemmy.world terms of service also apply here. Please familiarize yourself with them
2) All posts must end with a '?'
This is sort of like Jeopardy. Please phrase all post titles in the form of a proper question ending with ?
3) No spam
Please do not flood the community with nonsense. Actual suspected spammers will be banned on site. No astroturfing.
4) NSFW is okay, within reason
Just remember to tag posts with either a content warning or a [NSFW] tag. Overtly sexual posts are not allowed, please direct them to either [email protected] or [email protected].
NSFW comments should be restricted to posts tagged [NSFW].
5) This is not a support community.
It is not a place for 'how do I?', type questions.
If you have any questions regarding the site itself or would like to report a community, please direct them to Lemmy.world Support or email [email protected]. For other questions check our partnered communities list, or use the search function.
6) No US Politics.
Please don't post about current US Politics. If you need to do this, try [email protected] or [email protected]

Badger Badger Badger on a loop.
You could try a homemade sex tape. If it gets leaked you could become rich and famous like Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian.
Just keep the tapes and let whoever gets the camera get their own tapes. Had they gotten hard to find or anything? I have a few around (unopened) that I can send you.
Once I get rid of the camcorder I won't have anything that can use the tapes. I won't have any use for the tapes. They may as well go with it.
Well if the tapes have highly private stuff on them I'd hang on to them or get them shredded. Overwriting might not completely obligated the old content.
Nothing that private, or they'd have already been pitched in the shredder. It's just old family movies mostly, already digitized and saved away.
So if anyone cares, here's what I finally went with on each tape. Not every tape was full, so some of these only needed an hour-ish of content to tape over it.
- The entirety of The Backrooms, starting just after the title sequence, followed by some Everywhere at the End of Time
- The entirety of Local 58, including the 30 minute lander stream
- The bulk of The Mandela Effect (total runtime is longer than 2 hours by a lot)
- David Lynch's Rabbits, followed by This House Has People In It
- Weather Channel Vaporwave (full tape length)
- The North Korean monster film Pulgasari, followed by the silent film version of Jekyll and Hide
- Mystery Science Theater 3000: Godzilla vs. Megalon (one of the ones with no proper DVD release, keep circulating the tapes!)
- Every FenserFilms G.I. Joe PSA parody (short tape)
A loop of Linus saying “NVIDIA, fuck you!”
Why not just film the wall until your tape runs out and then swap the tape to the next.
Dismantle the tapes and cut the tape in peices?
What's the point of that?
To make it unreadable to the wast, wast majority of people.
I thought that was the end goal.
That is not the end goal. I want the tapes to still be usable.
Alright, then I misunderstood, it was early in the morning (:
