I sure hope these rats are usually in a much nicer enclosure than this. No food, no water, no bedding at all, in fact the only thing I see in this tub is the weird stick thing.

That was during the cleaning and reconfiguration of their cage. No need to worry :)

Seems they might benefit from at least a hand towel or rag to lay on, so they don’t have to just sit there on the cold plastic floor. Also, there’s no reason not to provide a couple small dishes for food/water while they wait, even if it’s only for a short while.

I assume this is temporary while their main cage is being cleaned. Plastic bin cages are great for mice but to the best of my knowledge rats will chew their way out of a plastic bin fairly quickly.
