Mate, you've clearly never had proper shortbread if you're putting it in C tier.

Get your sen up to Scotland and have some nice buttery crumbling shortbread.

[–] FrankTheHealer 5 points 1 year ago

Was going to say this. Shortbread should be at least A tier

Thats just national pride talking,

Personally I think Plymouth's Pasties are superior to all other pasties (Ron Dewney for the win) and love them. But a pasty can only be so good and I accept people wouldn't put it in a S tier for food.

Another example is Americans claiming Jack Daniels is the best whiskey.

Bloody hell, what did party rings ever do to you?

Also: oreo is ranked too high on the list. I know it's at the bottom. That's too high.

The Jammy Dodger as S Tier is borderline criminal. To be fair, that should be solely reserved for the chocolate Hobnob.

[–] 9cpluss 7 points 1 year ago

You mean the dark chocolate hobnob, then you are correct.

How's no one else kicking off about Jaffa Cakes being featured at the top of a biscuit tier list.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 year ago

I was about to kick off about a Fig Roll not being a biscuit, but Wikipedia claims it is.

Consider my world shooketh.

There’s no way a chocolate finger is the same level as a rich tea.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 year ago (1 children)

A-F fuck me up. I owe it all to the glorious celiac disease. Rice corn cakes are the only solace.

[–] NickwithaC 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

My mum has that. They make gluten free honobs and those are really good, both the chocolate and plain kinds.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Hmm I'll have to look for those. Some gluten free food is vile, but some things are affordable and nice. Spaghetti feels like normal spaghetti for about 20-30p more. Bread is extortionate. I find myself living off rice and potatoes, trying to restock iron that I cant absorb.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago

There's some brands that do gluten free Digestives (non-chocolate) and cookies. I think it's Dove farm? They're ok...

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Although gluten free bread is extortionate and vile, most other gluten free food is pretty good (but still extortionate).

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

I find it's a case of looking for things that are naturally gluten free and getting used to that. I used to eat mainly rice, pulses and veg, so I'm happy to keep these ;)

So many omissions!

My favourites are Tuc, Lotus, and Lu.

[–] FrankTheHealer 4 points 1 year ago

Tucs are more like crackers. Not something you'd have with tea

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Sainsbury's do strawberry custard creams. They would be off the top of this chart!

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago

You don't need to listen, just go and try some!

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 year ago

Better than that absolute rage-bait version that circulated a year or two ago, at least!

Also OP, crop your damn image!

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Maybe I'm too simple but I don't like any of the S row biscuits. Shortbread's the best

[–] IndiBrony 5 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (2 children)

I can agree Oreos should be F tier, but my god how you can't put shortbread in S tier is beyond me!

On a more personal level, Rich Tea ain't shit without being dunked in your cuppa. F tier without, C tier with.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

This is going to sound gross, but go with me.

Two Rich Tea biscuits, sandwiched together with Lurpak. No tea or anything else involved, just stuff it into your face.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 year ago

Who are you who is so learned in the ways of science?

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago

Oreos shouldn't even make the list.

[–] AbeFroman 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

No mention of a Tunocks Caramel Wafer?

[–] NickwithaC 3 points 1 year ago

No, for the same reason KitKats are not listed. They're chocolate bars, not biscuits.

[–] 9point6 3 points 1 year ago

See the thing you've not considered about party rings though, is that there's nothing else quite like a party ring

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)
[–] NickwithaC 5 points 1 year ago

S tier along with their brethren.

[–] EnderMB 2 points 1 year ago

Maybe it's because I'm a big fat fatty, but to be they're all S tier, even Oreos, because you can get a whole pack for £1 and smash them in front of the telly in one sitting.

Jammy Dodgers, though, shouldn't be ranked top.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

Move jammie dodgers down to C and shortbread up to A and I'd agree with this

[–] Astroturfed 0 points 1 year ago (3 children)

I was so confused until I realized this is the UK and you all love "biscuits" with tea.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 year ago

Now you know how we feel every time we hear "biscuits and gravy"!

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Both the US and UK define a biscuit as a small unleavened cake.

For some reason US folks call all but one type of small unleavened cakes "coookies" which is a specific type of biscuit.

It would be like calling all beer "stout".

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Ahem, we like biscuits, you like "biscuits"

Ftfy

[–] Astroturfed 6 points 1 year ago

I like both

[–] PlantDadManGuy -1 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Your problem is you've never tried dipping the Oreos in milk or enjoyed splitting them in half with a friend hoping you get the creamy side. But I guess since this is casualUK you can substitute tea in a pinch.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 year ago

Your problem is you haven't realised they're just shit bourbons.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 year ago

I find the Custard Creams and Bourbons can do everything the Oreo can, whilst being nicer in the first place.

What I do like about Oreos, however, is due to their lower popularity, they often turn up in the "this is about to go out of date" shops for very low prices. They're perfectly fine when they're 10p a packet.
