Summary

Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett’s reaction to Donald Trump walking past her at his joint congressional address went viral: “She looks like she couldn't despise him more in this clip.”

Barrett, who was appointed by Trump in 2020, sided with a 5-4 Supreme Court majority to uphold a lower court order unfreezing $2 billion in foreign aid, drawing criticism from Trump supporters.

Maybe she shouldn't have voted to make him immune from consequences then.

[–] [email protected] 82 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Yeah she was all happy when she got to handmaiden away women's rights, but now she's worried about the authoritarian stank that's left on her? Wonder what changed.

[–] finitebanjo 44 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago)

There has been a lot of real unironic talk amongst the GOP to remove women senators and judges from power. Or maybe Trump tried to rape her, wouldn't surprise me in the least.

[–] OhStopYellingAtMe 43 points 4 days ago (3 children)

Maybe she just caught a whiff of his diaper load.

[–] [email protected] 20 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Apparently, he does smell. Really bad. One of the least surprising things I’ve read recently.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 4 days ago

It's incredible that nobody (like foreign leaders) has ever said anything when they're both on camera... Like come on. I would love to hear some German Minister or something, all serious, be like, "vat ist dat smellz?" while in the middle of a photo op or sit down discussion or some shit... Just to see how Trump reacts.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 4 days ago

It’s totally this, the stench must have been overpowering on that fateful night.

[–] CharlesDarwin 3 points 4 days ago

That's exactly what I thought. Women tend to have a better sense of smell than men. Also, some people are super smellers - I wondered if she might be one when I saw that clip.

That look of complete disgust and distain? It's like she was channeling Melania

[–] Boddhisatva 40 points 4 days ago

Yeah, I thought the same thing.

I heard Amy Coney Barrett was a RINO. Many people came to me and said Sir. she is a closet left wing liberal lunatic. But she came to me with tears in her eyes, begging for a job. I should have thrown her out like a dog. What a TOTAL LOSER!

Best thing ever was the trump criticizes Trump deal.

Anyone have a link to a non-twitter source?

Nah, there was nothing malicious in her expression at all. She was looking at him with admiration and a smile. But her facial muscles sprang back to bitchface and that's what happened.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago)

According to my ex, resting bitchface is a common symptom of ASD. Or at least that's what she blames her own resting bitchface on.

This doesn't look quite like resting bitchface. This looks like disgust. But what she's disgusted over probably has nothing to do with whatever we speculate she's actually thinking.

I really like to use the Libredirect plugin, by the way....helps you avoid even accidentally sending traffic to sites that you select, and instead, sends them to alternatives.

https://libredirect.github.io/index.html

The only thing is that is does not seem to solve the Facebook problem. I'm not sure if there are any solutions out there for that.

[–] CaptSneeze 2 points 4 days ago

Sounds like it’s worth checking out. Thanks for the tip!

SCOTUS should be elected.

If a political party appoints a Judge then it is not possible for that judge to be unbiased.

[–] [email protected] 19 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Huh. I never realized she looked like an older Pam Beesly

[–] [email protected] 11 points 4 days ago (1 children)

You take that right the fuck back! Seriously though, if Pam got addicted to Parliament cigarettes and dog racing, this would be who she became.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 4 days ago (2 children)

I can see the resemblance to an older Pam Beesly, but not how Jenna Fischer looks now or probably will probably look at the same age.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 4 days ago

Yeah, it's the parliaments and wasting your final social security checks betting the doggies that gets to ya.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 4 days ago

They are only two years apart.

[–] GaMEChld 13 points 4 days ago (1 children)

I actually think that was from the smell of him walking by. Seriously.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 3 days ago

would be funny that in a room full of old people, trump's old people smell somehow outpowers the rest XD

[–] OCATMBBL 8 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago)

Is Amy Coney Barrett a Republican?

Supreme Court justices do not serve under a political party. Barrett is considered to be among the Court's conservatives, but she has served as a swing vote in some controversial cases.

Lol sure.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 4 days ago

Bad actress, 1/5

[–] Norgoroth 7 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Probably just smelled his soiled McDiaper and stale ketchup aroma

[–] [email protected] 2 points 4 days ago

I'm pretty sure this is it

[–] Scolding7300 2 points 4 days ago

Doesn't look like she's looking at him at all, staring at someone/something inthe background before Trump walks over

[–] MuskyMelon 1 points 4 days ago (2 children)

She looks like the leopard ate her face and she understands why it did. But as long as she upholds the Constitution, that's all you could ask for.

[–] [email protected] 24 points 4 days ago (1 children)

She's already gutted the Constitution. She helped evolve the argument that (and then voted that) he's immune to anything he can claim as an "official act", and now everything will be an "official act". She helped him get back into office, now he can ignore the courts, including the Supreme Court - we already know no one is going to stop him. She had the chance to stop this and she failed.

[–] MuskyMelon 3 points 4 days ago

Well maybe the leopard just ate her face. Not she hasn't done shitty things but better late than never since her seat is for life.

Liberal "resistance" consists of devoting your entire life to serving a violent empire while wearing a wacky costume, then turning up your nose at the physical manifestation of your work.

In the traditional meaning of the words, all Republicans and Democrats are conservative liberals. Does that seem like an oxymoron? It's not, we've just twisted the word liberal to mean not conservative in the US. Progressive is a much better word for people who are against the conservative agenda.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 4 days ago (1 children)

What the fuck are you on about, she is literally a christofascist sect member that wants to turn the USA into a real world enactment of The Handmaids Tale.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 4 days ago

Agreed 💯. I wasn't talking about her specifically, just the way words have changed meaning over time, specifically in the US.
