That woman is what we call ignorant, I am saying this as Myanmar myself(woman in photo is quasi support on Junta).

And we are currently heading to Syria like situation, minus Assad kicked out phase. If Xi Pooh really going to back junta further, it will be quite hellish in coming years.

I am laughing at myself because I find myself irrationally frustrated by the asymmetry of her dance. All of her step movements are in one direction, and then back to center.

Why are we like this? What a stupid thing to get irritated about. And yes, you too, reader, have pet peeves. Maybe different ones, but it's still silly to get irritated by them.

People love symmetrical patterns and proper ratios our brains seem to be fine tuned to noticing and examining them for information and correlation. Theres a billion theories as to why, nobody really knows. Me I personally think that the universe in totality is somewhat conscious and has a deep appreciation for the fundimental abstract truths baked into the concepts of symmetry and higher levels of complexity forming beautiful tapestries of order. As we are higher complexity beings spawned from the universe we inherit this appreciation that lead to the creation of life and our awareness in the first place.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 hour ago

Symmetry is a contravention to chaos, so you may have something there - independent of the spiritual aspect, which you are of course free to believe.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 23 hours ago

Laughing at your illogical thinking is a good sign though!

Just imagining showing the video to someone and them going, "But...her movements aren't symmetrical!!" as a missile launcher rolls in behind her is pretty funny, and very on brand for the energy of the OP.

I have no idea, but maybe I can help your mind find rest.

I am imagining her in a in-person class, standing in front of 20 participants. Now, if she were to do the steps in both directions, she would need double the padding around the margins in terms of space. So about 2 metres free space to the left and the right. Doing the steps only on one direction, would let her use her studio space more efficiently.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 22 hours ago

Ah, that feels better, thanks.

I can't imagine a legit celebrity musician coming up with a better music video. Nothing staged is going to beat a "nothing can phase me" dance video during a real live coup.

[–] Death__BySnuSnu 3 points 1 day ago

That's the greatest banner in the history of coups!

[–] nialv7 26 points 1 day ago (1 children)

The coup is not going on, it has already succeeded.

[–] youCanCallMeDragon 4 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Almost, democracy is still in its death throes

[–] [email protected] 3 points 22 hours ago

"democracy" is went to the farm and it aint coming back

[–] [email protected] -3 points 13 hours ago (3 children)

We protected democracy when we punished the party that skipped an election. We sent the signal that it is not acceptable to skip an election. That is good for democracy. It would have been very bad to reward the Democrats for skipping their primary.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 hour ago

Jesus fucking Christ. The GOP is ignoring the constitution, but you think the real problem is how the Democratic Party is picking their candidate?

[–] pyre 1 points 48 minutes ago

punished the party that skipped a primary by rewarding a party that didn't accept to engage in peaceful transfer of power. I'm trying to think the last time I heard something as dumb as this

[–] youCanCallMeDragon 4 points 3 hours ago

Jesus Christ, this guy would rather institute fascism than let democrats bend the rules in an unprecedented situation.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 13 hours ago (2 children)

This “coup” is a new administration being elected.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 24 minutes ago

Dude broke his oath 2 hours after he took office

[–] surewhynotlem 3 points 1 hour ago (1 children)

No. It's very specifically the things being done after the election to weaken the legislative branch's ability to enforce checks and balances on the executive branch. This consolidates power in the presidency, breaking the entire safety net that our constitution put in place.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 38 minutes ago* (last edited 37 minutes ago) (1 children)

To be fair, I do think it's a bit different than a coup. If strong evidence comes out that the election was tampered with (which I could believe) then I'd call it a coup, but as it stands right now, it's more like the American people voted to try a dictatorship political system out

Coup implies hostile takeover but Musk & Co. were just handed the reins to the US government

[–] [email protected] 2 points 28 minutes ago (1 children)

The executive branch is taking power from the legislative and judicial branch. By taking the power of the purse and by ignoring judicial orders.

The executive branch is executing a coup. Like by definition. No one voted to throw out the constitution. We voted for a president that had checks and balances. Now that they are in, they are ignoring the checks and consolidating power.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 19 minutes ago

Right, yeah I can agree when it's put that way. It's definitely an interesting situation to say the least

[–] [email protected] 28 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Burma had a better coup because at least they were in shape and exercising

America just lines up at McDs and orders extra cheese and gravy to go with their 4 gallon soda while the government falls apart.

[–] [email protected] 43 points 1 day ago

Bro please don't make fun of America right now. I'm on my third heart attack today and can't afford to see the doctor again this year.

Didn't expect this to be such a controversial opinion lol

[–] [email protected] 24 points 1 day ago (4 children)

It's wild to me how consistently the internet can comment on a woman's looks no matter what the context.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 hour ago (1 children)

People said suspect pictures in the killing of Brian Thompson were attractive too.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 46 minutes ago

See other comments.

[–] [email protected] 27 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I would say something like this if there was a good looking dude up there... I really doubt it has to do with her being a woman. Did u see the thirst for Luigi? He's not a woman.

[–] [email protected] -3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

This is a wild misrepresentation. Luigi is an outlier when it comes to women commenting on a man's appearance on the internet.

[–] InternetCitizen2 10 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I'm sorry you feel that way but I wasn't being derogatory.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 22 hours ago

These tired tactics are getting tired.

Idiots online can't read tone and make up intent to they can argue...

Thank you clarifying. Not everything is fucking a culture war issue jfc

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Please keep distracting from the class war or people might start noticing that we’re losing!

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 day ago

Lmao, what?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (2 children)

Especially when most of her face is covered by a mask. "She has pretty eyes" would at least make sense, but I suspect in this case it's just code for red fever.

I take that back. You can't even see her eyes. She's skinny and Asian; that's probably all that mattered.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 hour ago

I think you're overthinking it a little. She's fit and wearing flattering athletic wear. I don't think people saying she's attractive is indicative of them fetishizing her ethnicity.

Yellow fever? I think I got the wrong term. It's not something I use or think about a lot

[–] [email protected] 24 points 1 day ago

Protesting through dance is indeed very cute.

For more info, please watch Newsies, a 1992 musical drama about the paperboy strikes produced by corporate behemoth Walt Disney Pictures :)
