This “coup” is a new administration being elected.

No. It's very specifically the things being done after the election to weaken the legislative branch's ability to enforce checks and balances on the executive branch. This consolidates power in the presidency, breaking the entire safety net that our constitution put in place.

To be fair, I do think it's a bit different than a coup. If strong evidence comes out that the election was tampered with (which I could believe) then I'd call it a coup, but as it stands right now, it's more like the American people voted to try a dictatorship political system out

Coup implies hostile takeover but Musk & Co. were just handed the reins to the US government

Oh, we're playing the literalist game. I didn't realize. Yes, if a coup requires a violent overthrow, then that may not have happened.

I would think that modern coup definition could be extended to include tricking a large number of people through media brainwashing. I guess it depends on your minimum definition of violence. Is brain washing a violent act?

The executive branch is taking power from the legislative and judicial branch. By taking the power of the purse and by ignoring judicial orders.

The executive branch is executing a coup. Like by definition. No one voted to throw out the constitution. We voted for a president that had checks and balances. Now that they are in, they are ignoring the checks and consolidating power.

Right, yeah I can agree when it's put that way. It's definitely an interesting situation to say the least
