It's down to poor product quality, safety issues, emerging competitors, and Musk swanning around acting like a bell-end.

In other news, theconversation.com is now re-branding as thefuckingobviously.com

[–] sirboozebum 1 points 2 hours ago

Also noshitsherlock.com

Yes, but also their cars are ugly and they were riding high on musk's cult of personality in the first place.

Rivians are better anyway.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 hours ago

I don't think they are ugly. The truck is an abomination though.

He singlehandedly turned them into swastikars /swasticars, so I imagine he's got something to do with it, yeah.

[–] CosmoNova 4 points 20 hours ago

On top of that his cult following brought Tesla lots of fans too. He made the company all about himself so of course plummeting sales can be tied to his fascism.

SwastiKKKars

100% yes, Even if it's not the heiling and endorsing AfD, Musk is the CEO of Tesla, and has made false promises about the car for a decade.
And many other false promises like hyperloop not being that hard, manned missions to Mars 2024. Completely failing on any of his "visions" with X may be minor, but still another drop that helped the glass pour over.
Even if you initially trust a car from an untrustworthy company with a liar for CEO, the truth will dawn at you at some point.
And this is all on Elon Musk, Everything bad about Tesla is on Elon Musk. FSD not really being FSD 11 years after it was promised. Failing to present new models for years apart from the Cybertruck being a gigantic failure and a joke, Musk laughing about the competition before losing to them, the same way Steve Balmer laughed of iPhone when Jobs presented it.

Apologists claim the model Y facelift will restore sales, but will it also restore failing sales of model 3?
Even without the heiling Tesla marketshare would have dropped off a cliff in January YOY. Because the trend was started already from January 2024!!
What's worse for Tesla is that with only 6%, their profit margins are now SMALLER than the competition.

Of course profits could be helped a bit just by firing Musk! Which they probably will have to do at some point soon anyway. Because Musk is getting ever more erratic, and if his behavior on social media and in public is any indication, it may be only a matter of time before he turns to physical violence.
He actually challenged Zuckerberg, but copped out when Zuckerberg accepted, probably because Musk is pussy that doesn't do any training, he just takes the hormones without the training.
He also threatened Johnny Depp, threatening to chop off Musk's "lower appendage". Musk completely failed to see how insane Amber heard was when she was unfaithful with him, and maybe believed the lies that were later revealed in court?

He is a complete failure as a human being, and people are beginning to see his lies, and he can't stand it, it's probably driving him ever more insane, maybe helped by the abuse of ketamine and other substances that aren't helpful for a man losing his senses.

I didnt notice it till your comment but Musks spiral of stupidity lines up with him losing positive social influence. Motherfucker has nothing to fill the void so he is instead chasing higher and higher positions to try to scratch that itch, it matches up pretty well when you use his early publicity stunts as the start, the purchase of Twitter as a midpoint, and now as the current high and your probably right he cant get too much more influence meaning he is probably not far from trying to shoot someone. Lets hope he goes for Trump as a target cause at least then nobody of worth will get hurt.

[–] ArtVandelay 49 points 1 day ago

It may not be the only reason, but it's certainly a major one. Also, if safety is a concern, how many dumb ass safety decisions were made by Elmo, so can we lump those in with the 'Elon' bucket?

[–] [email protected] 23 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Remember to point and laugh at or flip off all cybertrucks you see depending on your style.

[–] woelkchen 18 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Cybertruck is illegal in the EU, so I can't.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 day ago

Its worth the trip😉

[–] LordWiggle 4 points 1 day ago

Or light them on fire in front of a Trump building. But be smarter than a green baret: Get out first.

[–] TheGrandNagus 18 points 1 day ago* (last edited 18 hours ago) (2 children)

He's like Henry Ford, apart from the being good at building cars part.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 19 hours ago

Yeah, to give the devil his due, Ford really was a genius engineer, both of the car itself (it was made to be maintainable by someone with almost no special tools or expertise) and even more, of the manufacturing process. Too bad he was also a Nazi even before there were Nazis.

[–] Buffalox 3 points 1 day ago

Hahah exactly, that's a good one. 😂

[–] kokesh 30 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

100%. I was really into cheering for SpaceX and Tesla (until Cybershit came along), but I lost all my interest.

[–] [email protected] 23 points 1 day ago (3 children)

I stopped cheering to anything attached to Elon when he decided to call a diver a pedo because the diver rescued those kids in the cave before Elon could.

[–] Hayduke 9 points 1 day ago

That was exactly my turning point. It was so unnecessary. It really exposed what a immature, petty, shithead he is. After that instance, all of his try-hard poser traits were out in the open and his lies stated stacking up over his head. I knew kids like him growing up, the difference is that I felt bad for them and they grew up. He is emotionally stuck as an awkward chump who tries to believe that people are laughing with him.

I don't get excited for any of his projects any more, even though they are both impressive to some degree or another and many jobs with honest and skilled people are attached to said projects.

If there is one thing he impresses me with, to this very day, is his ability to absolutely shit the bed

[–] [email protected] 1 points 16 hours ago

Was the loop before or after this? The entire concept points out what a dumbass he is

[–] stoly 3 points 1 day ago

I was never into him but took this moment to understand that he’s an insecure child.

[–] [email protected] 16 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Kinda rooting for the ULA sniper at this point

[–] dogslayeggs 2 points 1 day ago

Man, I had almost forgotten about that bit of absolute lunacy. I had just switched from working F9 certification to Vulcan cert when that happened, and I'll just say nobody I worked with was surprised they blew up another one.

[–] [email protected] 14 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Come on we know this is all because of Joe Biden. /s

Yes, which is why it is stupid that their board recently approved to pay him billions to be their CEO.

[–] joekar1990 3 points 17 hours ago

The board has close ties to musk. His brother is on the board. That's why they will always pay the guy.
