How long until Americans realize, and start to flee to Canada and Mexico. I'd advice those countries to prepare for millions of US refugees. Don't forget to include a bible and a gun in every care package to make them feel at home. Trump takes care of the immigration problem by making the US the worst place to be.

I got to pick one where I can legally live, and one that isn't going to force my daughter into a conversion therapy camp for being gay, which is what I am concerned with at the moment.
I'm not super full of national pride, but its not exactly a hell hole and on the plus side we've recently elected a party on the left while a good chunk of the other major European powers are shifting to the right. Need to get on top of this Reform nonsense, but I'm not seeing anyone rounding up LGBTQ folk.
Agreed. And every kid my daughter has met and talked to has been very much accepting. Unlike a lot of American kids.

Thank you. I have decades of experience in audio video production and post production with a very impressive CV which hasn't helped much yet, sadly.
How long was the process?
For me, six weeks to get a passport because I have citizenship rights. For my daughter (and wife still in the U.S.), it involves me finding a job that pays more than £28,000 a year.
What if you were working remotely? Would that have counted?
I think so. As far as I understand, I just have to be in the country and prove I make at least that much a year or have that much in savings. But fully remote jobs are even harder to get.

I'm currently in the process of relocating to Canada via my job, know many others who are as well.

Thanks. But are these people fleeing into Canada due to the Trump regime, or are they just smugglers / criminals? It says nothing about the motive. There are also people entering Canada to buy their meds there, smuggling them back to the US.
PS, in my head I'm reading it like a canadian from south park, adding "eh", "buddy", "friend", "pall" at the end of every sentence. Childish, I know, but oh so funny hehe.

Funny how Musk doesn't seem in a hurry to go after the IRS or the DHS...
The IRS is no threat to him personally, since the Republicans have ensured that it doesn't have the funding to go after the BIG tax dodgers like himself.
As for the DHS, ICE SHOULD be a threat to him since he broke visa rules and as such is technically in the country illegally, but that would require for the law to apply to politically connected billionaires..

That's the fun/infuriating part: due to a lack of funding, that's already the case no matter who's in charge of the IRS!
It's much more expensive for the IRS to audit the big fish and, knowing that, the GOP have made sure that they're underfunded enough that their billionaire overlords like Musk can cheat on their taxes with impunity and never get audited.
So for every dollar of funding the IRS gets, the nation gets five dollars back. If the department of government efficiency wasn't a sick joke, they'd love the IRS. Imagine if you had such an easy investment. Quintuple your money in a year.
