Summary

Elon Musk’s Nazi salute during a speech was projected onto Tesla’s Berlin factory by two left-wing activist groups, Led By Donkeys and the Center for Political Beauty.

The groups, known for their creative stunts, aimed to expose political hypocrisy and address issues like fascism and historical accountability.

Musk dismissed the controversy, urging people not to overanalyze his actions.

It wasn't controversial. There is no controversy about it, everyone except nazis are saying that it was a nazi salute.

Yeah it's not like he was this huge humanitarian that suddenly made a gesture that looked a bit like it.

Musk has repeatedly shown sympathies for the extreme right, for instance officially supporting the German Extreme right ultra nationalist AfD.
So when a proven fascist makes a Nazi salute, there is absolutely zero reason to believe it was an accident.

So USA now has official Nazis in their government now!!

Congratulations USA.

Right - like normal humans would say "whoops you're right, that was an unintended gesture"

Not double down on it

Unfortunately, far-right is invading most countries... There are just more discrete for now, but less and less.

[–] marcos 59 points 3 days ago (2 children)

Nah, if the reports on the internet are right, the nazis seem to be pretty clear in agreement and celebrating it.

[–] [email protected] 27 points 3 days ago

The Nazis who are loud and proud about being Nazis agree it was a nazi salute.

The Nazis who still want to hide what they are because they don't want to face the consequences and social shunning say it wasn't a nazi salute.

I thought the actual natzis heard him loud and clear. I wouldn't be surprised that they start saying "My heart goes out to you" just like they used to say "let's go Brandon"

[–] ms_lane 48 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Everyone saw him loud and clear.

There is no more room for interpretation, Elon Musk thinks himself a Nazi.

[–] [email protected] 30 points 3 days ago

Yeah because anyone who did that by accident would be tripping over themselves trying to apologize and explain themselves.

[–] dogsnest 16 points 3 days ago

...and yet, the nazis love him even more!

[–] [email protected] 11 points 3 days ago

Actually, the Nazis are saying it was a Nazi salute too. Just to each other in their own little echo chambers.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

But we have to have balance in this important debate between both sides: Nazi and not-Nazi!

And thus the Overton window for US politics continues its rightwards slide.

Geez you wokies are tense. Can't people just scream "Heil Hitler" anymore without being labeled Nazi?? Stop overanalyzing everything, maybe the guy with the swastika tattoo just like the esthetic of it, is that so difficult to understand??

[–] knightmare1147 24 points 3 days ago

Had to check your stuff for a sec, poe's law...

I hate that I can't tell the difference between genuine bad faith sympathizers and just some good old sarcasm these days, crazy times.

[–] WheelcharArtist 67 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

...urging people not to overanalyze his actions.

yeah no need for that. he is a nazi that did the nazi salute. easy

[–] [email protected] 25 points 3 days ago

It's not over-analysis of subtle body movenents, it was a straight up Nazi salute

[–] [email protected] 26 points 3 days ago

We are not overanalyzing anything, from the list of tells already given by the nazi, this will just brand musk forever as a nazi.

[–] SlopppyEngineer 19 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Musk should be greeted by giving him the middle finger. Then say it was just a gesture in the moment and not to overanalyze it.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 3 days ago

I'd prefer a punch in the face

[–] [email protected] 19 points 3 days ago

If someone shows you who they are, believe them.

[–] ms_lane 19 points 3 days ago (1 children)

urging people not to overanalyze his actions.

Isn't that like the whole schtick of the current anti-woke/far-right/fascist group? Overanalysing to the point of absurdity, where small actions by some 'adversary' are analysed/reimagined until they become malicious, deliberate and prepared?

Why shouldn't Elon have some of that on his plate too?

[–] pivot_root 3 points 3 days ago

"Rules for thee, not for me."

[–] [email protected] 18 points 3 days ago

Only cowardly yellow media call it "controversial".

[–] [email protected] 12 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

Stop washing the nazi’s actions. Fucking hell

I know the headline has to match post title. But it’s just doing that for them

[–] gedaliyah 9 points 3 days ago

Musk dismissed the controversy, urging people not to overanalyze his actions.

Which one is it? Should people dismiss it or stop overanalyzing? Because the only way to dismiss it is to overanalyze.

Without overanalyzing, it was just plainly a Nazi salute.

Finally a little more uplifting news, its good to hear people are doing something
