How do you bake a swastika into a cake like that? I'm fascinated by this. From a baking point of view, of course 😅.

This is likely AI generated but you can cut out parts of the cake to layer in other cakes or fillings to create images in the slices. A swastika would be difficult but not impossible to do with layers of chocolate cake placed in channels carved into the yellow cake.

Note if you are going to make a swastika cake you should absolutely use yellow cake (UO2) and not the Betty Crocker baking mix as it will provide better results for those that eat it or are even near the thing.

It actually doesn't look AI generated, you can see the separation of layers and it doesn't quite have that uncanny quality to it.

And the shape matches up perfectly between the slice and the whole, as well as the different lengths of the swastika. Image models aren’t capable of understanding the world in a way to make that work yet.

I miss the world from before Bush II taught us was yellow cake was. That was de fucking moralizing.

I just wish more people understood how hard they dropped the ball on Al Qaeda. Clinton fucked up by not assassinating Bin Laden after the USS Cole was attacked in Yemen when he apparently had the opportunity. The Bush administration completely ignored all of the warnings of the CIA and FBI experts suggesting an attack was imminent.

So much if the average American's surprise at 9/11was because they weren't being informed of the risks I was being to,d about daily in college.

You just gotta plan your cylinders right

Maybe it's like those checker/pixel art cookies where it's made of long square noodles layered in a pattern? I mean cake batter isn't anything like shortbread cookie dough, though, so it'd have to be a weird cake.

Or maybe it was photoshopped, IDFK.

[–] MothmanDelorian 5 points 2 days ago (1 children)

It's layered baked cakes not batter as that would just mix together as it baked. This is presuming it usn't a fabricated image.

Usually only the insert (swastika in this case) is pre-baked. You put the insert in place and then pour in the batter around it, which holds the insert it place and bakes up into one cohesive cake.

Idk why someone would make this but I think it's real. You can see very faint vertical breaks in all the joints of the swastika, in all the places where you'd have to cut the brown cake to make it into that shape.

They say traditional values because they can't say Christian values anymore.

[–] [email protected] 17 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Christian values like forgiveness and love?

[–] [email protected] 15 points 2 days ago

Haha mo, not those ones silly!

[–] [email protected] 4 points 2 days ago

Nine hour old post and no one has referred to it as a swasticake? Or mention it's made with German chocolate? Step up, lemmy!

Is this a swastika or the Buddhist symbol? It seems like it depends on which angle you’re looking at it from.
