A gaming community free from the hype and oversaturation of current releases, catering to gamers who wait at least 12 months after release to play a game. Whether it's price, waiting for bugs/issues to be patched, DLC to be released, don't meet the system requirements, or just haven't had the time to keep up with the latest releases.

Aloft looks potentially interesting but the alpha was a bit bare on content. I want to see how people feel about it in a few weeks.
For the patient gamers though, perhaps check out Astroneer or Dinkum? Maybe Stationeers or From the Depths if you're into serious simulation.
so.. I just started playing Red Dead Online this weekend. On Linux. It works.. and it’s fun, I just bought a new horse and finished some missions with random people. Someone killed my horse once, with fire, that was a very sad moment — luckily, I had some insurance.

There isn't anything on the horizon I am interested in right now. At least, nothing with a concrete release date. The only thing I can even think of right now is getting Adventure Mode in the Steam version of Dwarf Fortress. And that could come anywhere between tomorrow and a decade from now. It's been "coming soon" since the game came out on Steam. 🤷🏻♂️
In February, kingdom come II is releasing. Excited off my fucking rocker, currently trying to 100% the first before 2 releases!
Yep, I'm probably not going to wait very long before buying it. I got the first one not long after release and I've been looking forward to the sequel ever since! Some of the advanced reviewers are even saying it plays reasonably well on the Steam Deck!
By the way, the 100% is sometimes frustrating but a great feeling when you get there! It was the first (and only) game I ever took the time to do that with.

I am patiently waiting for Kingdom deliverance to get released and a couple of weeks or months to see what the reviews say about the state of the game. Then I will decide whether to buy it or not.
Another two games on my radar are RDR 1 and Indiana Jones, Pentiment and Slay the Princes but waiting for better discounts on those.
... something Heaven's Vault related is coming in 2025. I really really hope it's a video game and not just more novel things. Really hoping something to do with Mazwai!
If Monster Hunter Wilds plays nice on Steam Deck, I doubt I'll be able to resist. Otherwise, it's a small game, but Heroes of Hammerwatch 2 releases next week, and I am hyped. The first HoH is the GOAT roguelite, IMO, and the demo for HoH 2 was very promising.

The first beta had issues with crashing on Proton but it seems like they figured out the reason.

What do you mean by tempting? Like are you asking about brand new games that don't qualify for "patient" or just games in general? I'm not what most would call a gamer (I'm just an old dude that plays games sometimes) so I don't know that a "Civ 7" gives me much context as to what's being asked.
Civ7 is the newest Civilization game that is coming out. Given that this c/patientgamers, I think its safe to assume OP is asking if there are any new games that you will not be patient to aquire.
For myself, I'm going to buy the new Elden Ring at release. I have not been let down by Fromsoft and feel each of the previous Souls and Soulslike games have been worth the full price.
I did the same for the new Zelda game, because Nintendo hasn't let me down so far.
I'm patient for most games, because I hate playing update roulette.

Not a game per se, but I’m probably going to get a Switch2 on launch day. I have a Switch Lite, but want to be able to play couch multiplayer with my kids, starting with Mario Kart and some dancing game to get in some activity.
Found a Monster Hunter Wilds key for cheap, already lost.
I generally call myself a patient gamer for most titles.. but the monster hunter series is not one of them. Those games release in good shape, fully formed titles that don't really need to wait on.. I guess generally I'm patient when I feel the product doesn't match the price, but in this case, I feel it absolutely does. If there is DLC, it's either really silly cosmetic things, or a full fledged expansion on the content by at least 2x.
I’ve been playing MH for almost two decades… it’s the one game I buy immediately when new games come out. I KNOW they’re going to be good and they have always been stellar.
Pokémon used to be the only other series I bought on launch day, but that stopped after Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon. ScarVio was a garbage and I’m very happy I didn’t waste money on that.
I'll seriously consider EU V when it comes out, but it's not even officially announced yet. Until then, I'm trying to whittle down my unplayed games. Hopefully I'll get through a bunch before I find more interesting games.

Not really. I mean I'm kind of excited for Killing Floor 3 but not really jumping up and down for, based on how Tripwire handled Killing Floor 2.
Vampires the Masquerade: Bloodlines 2 is another title I've been interested in.
Everything else isn't really grabbing me strongly. I've been going backwards and going after games I've had on my wishlist for far too long than I wanted.
Been tempted by the several recent Metaphor discounts. But keep telling myself I can wait longer for a deeper one while I play Balatro.

I've been a patient gamer since buying used NES games as a little kid, but I'll buy at launch every once in a while. I was a single adult with a full-time job when Mario Maker came out. I took a day off work just to play it nonstop. It was a childhood dream of mine to design and play my own levels and spent my teenage years making ROM hacks with Lunar Magic.
I still think about how great that day was, staying home all day to play. Sometimes it's nice to treat yourself.
The other issue is that civ is never done until the dlc is out too.
Civ 7 is steam deck verified and releases Feb 11.

Less temptation and more gave in already. I got myself the ultimate edition of stalker 2. The first ones were some of my all time favourite games and I'm so glad the sequel got made I felt like they deserved my money. Have to say I'm very happy with my purchase and I look forward to the dlc in the future. The atmosphere is great and the gameplay is fun. I strongly recommend it.
I'm not a patient gamer generally speaking but I put so much time into the OG trilogy (all pirated) as well as all the modded repacks over the years (countless hours spent in gamma) that I felt obligated to support them this time around. Since I am no longer a broke kid playing on a laptop that can barely handle the game it feels right to give them full price for a game finally.
I put about 8 hours into stalker 2 before I shelved it. Not because I wasn't having fun, but I want them to just put that final layer of polish on the game before I finish it. I had already modded it to basically work the same as previous games with some adjustments to make up for the lackluster Alife on launch, but there were still some minor things that I have heard they have been fixing that will probably make finishing my save in a few months more enjoyable so I am happy to wait a little.
I'm still waiting until it gets more updates but I'm so impatient to play it 😄
