Random Blame-shift Go!!!!
Trump urged immediate action to shift blame back to Democrats.
Democrats have never ever even threatened to use the debt ceiling to shut down the government. It's a strategy that only works for Republicans because they're fine with government not working and poor people not getting their social security checks. If Democrats did it, it would backfire on them. Besides, Republicans have a trifecta, the only way the government shuts down is if they can't agree amongst themselves.
Trump claimed the extension gained Republicans nothing and warned Democrats might exploit the issue to harm the GOP
But doesn't care about the public at all...
Nothing new.
This is the perfect example of how completely fucked the US is. First, Trump’s fans either won’t see this or won’t care. They won’t care because many of them agree that eliminating the Democratic Party is a legit goal. Second, it shows that governing isn’t at all the goal, not that any intelligent person thought it ever was. The goal is winning at all costs. Finally, this (the “running” of this country) is all theater while people are losing their homes and parasites like Trumps entire cabinet are enriching themselves at a truly obscene pace.
None of this is exactly new info, of course, this one news tidbit just perfectly sums it all up. I don’t think the country’s going to fall apart in my lifetime, but the crest of its arc is well and fully behind us, I think.
It should go away. Congress approved the spending already, but then made this other rule saying they can't actually spend that. It's been a tool mostly used by Republicans to force issues and get what they want regardless of their status in Congress.
Trump saw one instance of it being used against his interests, and that is the extent of his understanding.
I guess keeping the government open and paychecks flowing is ‘nothing’ to this guy.
Pretty funny that CA gov Newsom is supporting Trump on the H1b. Not really funny. Actually explains a lot why people hate Dems so much.
I'm trying to figure out what line Dems are supposed to toe on immigration. H1B visas should be denied to stop low wage tech laborers from entering the US, but the borders should be open to any and all who are fleeing violence or poor economic conditions?
Well it should be used for what is needed. Mostly farm workers and low lever service jobs as our population has become more educated and reluctant to take those jobs. We definitely have enough software engineers and developers but corporations who will lie to save money on wages. Democrats should be protecting those jobs, the ones we do have the workers for and accepting immigration for the jobs we don't. But political bribes have changed that definition to where is makes no sense anymore.
Republicans are such morons.
