Mildly Interesting

This is for strictly mildly interesting material. If it's too interesting, it doesn't belong. If it's not interesting, it doesn't belong.

This is obviously an objective criteria, so the mods are always right. Or maybe mildly right? Ahh.. what do we know?

Just post some stuff and don't spam.

Smallville Lex was the best by a mile, because it showed the progression of the character in a believable way.

he pretty much made the show and him going fully bad along with the arrival of lane was when it jumped the shark.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 week ago

Yeah I stopped when Lane got there. Up until that point I was a staunch advocate of the show. I felt the finale and premiere of some of those seasons were some of the best TV I've seen.

I mean I haven't watched it since university, not sure if it holds up, but I remember it being amazing.

Michael Rosenbaum could be absolutely terrifying when he wanted. Great Lex imo

Is it just me or does he has a jerk face? I instantly dislike his character in every movie he does ...

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago

Definitely has a jerk face but he won me over

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 week ago

Great actor.

Top tier next to Spacey.

The Eisenberg one is kind of misleading because he only becomes bald at the end of the movie, and also the image says “Superman Vs Batman” instead of the actual film title of “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice”

[–] [email protected] 24 points 1 week ago (1 children)

It's also misleading because, while his character name was in fact Lex Luthor, he completely sucked balls and bore no resemblance to any reputable version of the character. And I should point out I do not dislike the actor, but that version just... failed in every way a character can fail.

IIRC they retconned it or something by saying he was actually Lex Jr., as if that makes it better. I really do dislike when adaptations don’t even try to bear semblance to the source material and the studio just slaps the recognizable name on them for marketing (ex. the MCU’s Taskmaster or their original attempt at The Mandarin)

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Wasn't the whole point of The Mandarin in IM3 that he was a fake?

[–] Squorlple 3 points 1 week ago

Yes, but until Shang-Chi, that was the MCU’s Mandarin, Potemkin or otherwise

I'm confused by The Adventures of Superboy. Google shows a 1961 BW TV show but the picture is in color and looks like late 60's.

There was a 1988 Superboy.

Edit: this is the 1988 Lex. It should be after the Gene Hackman Lex from 1978.

That is definitely Lex from the 1988 Superboy.

(I liked it, but I was also 11.)

As I recall (I haven’t seen the movie in years) Spacey was pretty damn good.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 1 week ago (1 children)

He's good in just about every evil role. Perhaps it helps to actually be evil?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago

Well, an elementary piece of acting advice is “draw on your life experiences”, so…

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 week ago

Spacey is a good actor ... more the pity ...

President? Can you imagine how much power I'd have to give up to be President?

He looks a lot like him yeah. So I had to look it up, it's Jon Cryer... the other guy from Two and a Half Men.

Wut

I didn’t believe you. Had to zoom in and yeah, you’re right but that’s bizarre!

Spacey is the only one that looks right to me

[–] Fredselfish 4 points 1 week ago

Nope Smallville Lex is the best, that and Gene Hackman.

[–] frigidaphelion 5 points 1 week ago

[–] JusticeForPorygon 5 points 1 week ago

Was it really called Superman vs Batman? I could have sworn it was the other way around.

[–] stupidcasey 5 points 1 week ago

SVB: is the most comic bookie.

Return of Superman: is the most balanced.

Titans: is the best looking / most like a real life CEO.

Super man movie: is the most Iconic.

I don’t know who the last one is, but he looks like Rickety Cricket

[–] FlyingSquid 1 points 1 week ago

That would be this guy, who is in lots of stuff, and is definitely not Rickety Cricket.

My god. SOME of these look spot on. Others.....ehhhhh.......I have to thing Stevie Wonder may have been the casting director.

[–] Nuke_the_whales 1 points 1 week ago

Jon Cryer was actually a decent Lex. And he played Lenny Luthor in Superman 4.
