Are you sure this is not satirical? "The Daily Beast" sounds like something a satirical news site would call themselves.
It's a center left Web 2.0 / Death of Traditional Journalism outlet, but still credible on a purely factual basis i.e. basic reported facts are probably accurate.
It's brand of leftism would best be described as progressive Democrat, and their analysis and editorial choices should be understood as primarily coming from those sensibilities and culture affectations e.g. educated, middle class, and a socially/culturally left brand of neoliberalism.

Daily beast is a left wing american news source that can sometimes be somewhat sensationalist but is a genuine source.
I would not rely on them for high quality reporting, but they tend to be okay at getting the facts right.
It's one of the very few times I'd agree if someone labeled it left. You know, unlike CNN or NBC or any network station.
