Pfft, I wish.

Ask for a ceasefire, get rid of some loans, start filling empty judge positions, slap Trump in the face, something, anything.

I love that they referred her to an anti-abortion crisis center, because there's a 99% chance they'll just tell her the same "pro-life" garbage she's been spewing and send her ass home.

About two days.

I woke up, went to school (around 7am). My mom and grandma were in vacation, so I was left with my dad. My "job" was to feed the cats at my grandma's place. Took a different bus so I could get to her. Fed the cats, and waited for my dad to come get me.

And waited. And waited. And waited.

He never came. I stayed up all night thinking he'd come back. My friend made a post on social media (I wanna say Xanga?), so I knew she was awake and I called and asked if her dad could come get me and drop me off at home.

Once home I brushed my teeth, changed my clothes, and was back on the bus. Came back and he was home, telling me there was a massive traffic jam that kept him locked in the road all night. He asked why I didn't just stay home.

There was no traffic jam.

Read, sleep, and I usually have a hand held charged if I'm super desperate.

It usually happens in the summer in my area, when everyone had the air on full blast.

  • Rombas. I had a knock off, so take my opinion with a grain of salt, but it was just easier with a regular vacuum, and faster. I also feel like a normal vacuum, currently, does a better job
  • Streaming services. I got lazy, but them breaking apart everything into services has gotten me back to basic. Laptop and an HDMI I cord, I can handle the rest. ๐Ÿดโ€โ˜ ๏ธ
  • Working. However, I recently changed departments, so that will keep me quiet for awhile.

They can't use a hostage against you if there's no hostage.

It's... It's based off of a movie (I wanna say "The Notebook?" ). They aren't strangers. She not kissing because of his shirt or because his beard, she already liked him. ._.

Makes things easier for both parties when medical issues arise, even more so for parents. And I genuinely believe that a lot of women don't know it's an option.

I actually didn't change my name when my mom married my dad, so you can really just say "no." i was in middle school when I decided that, but whenever my dad tried to do anything, he had to jump through hoops. ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿฟโ€โ™€๏ธ

Oh shoot, I'm sorry. That comment was too smart for me. ๐Ÿ˜…

Black people in America during the 50's were not treated well. They were hung, beaten, had their homes and communities destroyed often. There were also separate facilities such as schools, restaurants, and fountains. Many places were specifically "White Only." There were Sundown Towns that pretty much made it illegal to be black after sundown. There were books (green book) written and circulated to make it easier for POC to find hospitable places to travel.

This is not to say everything is all fine and dandy, but POC are usually not the ones dreaming about "the good old days."

Could Linux save my laptop? (self.nostupidquestions)
submitted 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) by 2ugly2live to c/nostupidquestions

This past weekend, my laptop decided it's had enough and has given me the blue screen of death. I've put it in recovery mode, tried to reinstall windows, the works, and it refuses. I have no idea why. I was logged on, looking something up, and it went kaput. I wasn't downloading anything, the computer was in it's sleeve prior, not too wet, cold, hot, etc. Battery is fine, the laptop it's self is maybe two years old.

My understanding is that Linux is a kind of system that you download the components to a USB or what not and then install it on your machine. Is that something I could do in this case? Or do I need to take it somewhere?

Edit: it seems I may have to check if it's a hardware problem. The error code is Bad_system_config_info, but it changed to something else at one point but I didn't write that one down. :(

They put out this shelf and I want it, but I don't want to seem strange? It would make a nice plant shelf, but it's not something I can scurry away with, so people would see me while I carried it. Is that a bad thing to do?

EDIT: Never mind. Someone beat me to it. ๐Ÿ˜ญ

I took this picture through my mosquito netting and I thought it turned out neat.

When I adopted her she was 21 pounds and I had to use a small dog carrier. She's now at a healthy 13 (she's long).

Another photo of her from her chonk days:

I adopted her when I was in the south west and she came with me to the east coat. That blur in the corner is my fat finger trying to take a picture.
