They've killed the second and adjourned the trial. It's over. What a stupid and unnecessary waste of time.
What a stupid and unnecessary waste of time.
Yep, that applies to the entirety of the Republican controlled House during the 118th United States Congress.
You have to go back a hell of a lot farther than just one Congress session to find anything they've done that wasn't ultimately stupid and a waste of time.
"The Democrats aren't taking us nominating noted lawyer and legal scholar Marjorie Greene as impeachment manager with lots of evidence seriously!" whined shitbag insurrectionist Josh Hawley.
Was he still running when they quoted him?
Some say he's still running to this day!
...mostly from his Constitutional duties.
I can’t follow any of what’s going on in this impeachment. Are republicans just wasting everyone’s time or is there something to this?
Are republicans just wasting everyone’s time or is there something to this?
The answer to this question will always be "yes".
Essentially the GOP is mad they can't find any reason to impeach Biden, so they blame their racist takes about border security on Mayorkas despite literally tanking a border security bill.
They are actually on the record saying that they decided that Mayorkas would be the fall guy and that it is fully for political purposes. This really is a tit-for-tat thing, very much "how dare you impeach MY president, we'll get one of yours now".
After the Senate voted to dismiss the articles, Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., and his GOP leadership team issued a strong rebuke to Democrats.
“By voting unanimously to bypass their constitutional responsibility, every single Senate Democrat has issued their full endorsement of the Biden Administration’s dangerous open border policies," the GOP leaders said in a statement.
Boo fucking hoo.
“By voting unanimously to bypass their constitutional responsibility, every single Senate Democrat has issued their full endorsement of the Biden Administration’s dangerous open border policies,"
That means a lot from the leader of the party that protected an anti-constitutional fascist and did everything in their power to protect his dementia riddled ass from the legal consequences of his actions.
Republicans talking about rule of law is about as meaningful as a pedophile talking about the best ways to keep children safe.
Which, thinking about it....
Aaand it's gone.
