Guess things are about to get started in the court of public opinion

[–] [email protected] 39 points 9 months ago (1 children)

I rule this easily-faked collection of whatsapp screenshots from an anonymous source admissible as evidence on the grounds that if you were going to fake it, you'd probably make them spicier than that.

I'm inclined to agree. Looks like there was at least something going on between them too. Not sure it's fireable but Geri should probably kick him to the kerb.

[–] [email protected] 10 points 9 months ago* (last edited 9 months ago) (1 children)

If it's enough for Geri to kick him to the curb (and personally, I agree it is) then it's not a big assumption to say he crossed the line into a relationship of romantic interest with a subordinate - and that point essentially becomes a fireable offense. These tend to be very explicitly defined in company policies because of the conflict of interest it creates.

At least this would be true in a normal company but ayyee wacky race team - who knows!

I don't necessarily agree that the screenshots shown here would warrant being fireable. Though I'm willing to change my opinion if he does this with all his subordinates or there's some additional information that shows him being more coercive. Or some extra explanation of how my perspective is wrong, which it could be.

A reprimand would be in order though. And ofcourse his wife is entitled to being extremely mad and dissapointed.

Almost all management contracts have a fraternisation clause. If any of these leaks are true (I don't see how they are going to prove it at this point and it all seems a bit funky to me) then it would almost definitely be a fireable offence.

He cheated on his previous pregnant wife to get with Geri, si she probably knows what she signed up for.

[–] wurstgulasch3000 2 points 9 months ago (1 children)

Have you seen the other screenshots though?

[–] DV8 6 points 9 months ago

I just have, so adjusting my opinion accordingly. This clearly is abuse of power and inappropriate behaviour in the workplace that goes beyond an inappropriate but not abusive attempt to have a romantic relationship with a coworker.

It's ridiculous RB thinks he can stay in his position.

Screenshot of whatsapp messages

Not clear if the leak is the real deal or some photoshop work...

[–] [email protected] 13 points 9 months ago (2 children)

Photoshop? Isn't this the type of stuff an AI can spit out in 3 minutes?

[–] DavidGA 15 points 9 months ago

Photoshop has an AI tool now, so at least we can still keep calling them “photoshops”.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 9 months ago

Yes there are a lot of web apps that generate whatsapp conversation, so fairly easy to do

[–] BURN 9 points 9 months ago

It looks like it could be photoshop, or even maybe a catfish? Nothing can be said for certain, and I’m sure every F1 journalist is pouring over it trying to validate the existance

[–] coffeebiscuit 6 points 9 months ago

And where is the “he should lose his job” evidence?

[–] [email protected] 3 points 9 months ago (2 children)

What are they meant to be sorted by?

[–] [email protected] 3 points 9 months ago

You have to align them with the stars, but take into account the position of Mars and Pluto at the time the screenshots were taken.

Weird: file 6 is JPG screenshot. Other screenshots are PNG. Phone changed in between? Or faked?

[–] Darthjaffacake 4 points 9 months ago (2 children)

Good spot but it looks like the jpg is a camera photo whereas the pngs are screenshots, so maybe the phone just uses different formats for each. (Although I'd expect the opposite normally)

[–] Jozav 1 points 9 months ago

Nah. I have now seen the full images. It is definitely a different phone with a different OS. She probably has two phones, one private, one company. Not unusual.

[–] IamAnonymous 1 points 9 months ago

File-6 is a screenshot and it’s jpg

[–] [email protected] 26 points 9 months ago

Oof

Like for real, I have no idea who has the right position in the relevant actions themselves.

But it's obvious that outside of those allegations, there is a power struggle going on within this company.

Popcorn heeere! Caramel, cheese or salted! Getcha popcorn heeereeee!

[–] SatouKazuma 13 points 9 months ago (1 children)

I'd say salted only, because this thread, and the larger Formula 1 community, are about to turn into the largest goddamn saltmine since the end of the 2021 season.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 9 months ago (1 children)

I'm just tryin to make a livin, okay bud? The demand for salt is through the roof and it's been tough keeping it stocked.

[–] SatouKazuma 4 points 9 months ago

Nah we've got enough salt for a few years now. The money's in fries, I'd say.

[–] Don_Beefy 5 points 9 months ago

I'll take a mix of cheese and salted please. Kangaroo court is about to start!

[–] rayquetzalcoatl 2 points 9 months ago (3 children)

Sorry, cheese popcorn? What planet did you come from?

[–] [email protected] 4 points 9 months ago

White cheddar powder makes top tier popcorn, it's the truth

[–] essteeyou 4 points 9 months ago

Do yourself a favor and try it. Freshly popped corn with powdered cheese is my favorite now.

[–] kerrypacker 4 points 9 months ago

Planet America. Don't worry it's not real cheese.

Don't think the pics are fake at least, he's worn that same polo before

[–] Rapidcreek 9 points 9 months ago (4 children)

This stuff never goes away. Funny thing is that obviously RBR thinks it does.

[–] Ptsf 6 points 9 months ago

Unfortunately for potential victims this type of evidence is becoming less and less meaningful as generation becomes trivial.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 9 months ago

Going from the rumours, RBR doesnt think that. RB's majority owners (the ones with the guy who killed someone and didnt face the consequences) do.

[–] fidodo 1 points 9 months ago (1 children)

Yeah, I think their complete lack of transparency is back firing. Do we even know what the accusations are?

[–] WhiteHawk 2 points 9 months ago

The point was that we shouldn't, because the public has a tendency to jump to conclusions and condemn people without even seeing the evidence

[–] JJROKCZ 1 points 8 months ago (1 children)

It doesn’t matter because the Thai owners of Red Bull do not care about this whole controversy so as long as Horner stays on their good side he’s good

[–] [email protected] 3 points 9 months ago

Link already deleted or is it just me?
I thought X is all about free speech and stuff?
