Wanting bachelor chow is basically how I ended up eating Soylent every day.

Unironically, I tried it back in the day and all their flavors sucked, the owner is kind of a weirdo and had to be bullied into having flavors at all, supposedly.

That said, someone finally made him make a mint chocolate and it is

Okay.

Still, it is actually a decent meal replacement drink. I don't care for them but for people who need to lose weight or need a specific calorie regimen in general it's okay and not counterproductively overly sweetened like a lot of the others.

Oh yeah that was a Futurama Bachelor Chow reference but yeah soylent isn't great. That being said i have a four pack in my fridge for cases of extreme decision fatigue.

I'm aware, it's just funny that they actually had that moment in marketing

[–] Tikiporch 2 points 9 months ago (2 children)

How did that work out for you?

[–] darganon 3 points 9 months ago (1 children)

Works great, it's about as cheap as you can get for food, and takes like 10 minutes every two days to prepare.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 9 months ago (1 children)

I guess you don't enjoy food or something. :)

[–] darganon 1 points 9 months ago (1 children)

I do, but breakfast and lunch five days a week is more planning and effort than I'm willing to do, so Soylent just gives me back time and energy. Now if I had private chef money, id be rocking French toast every morning before work

[–] [email protected] 1 points 9 months ago

Yeah I understand. I think it's very time consuming also, specially with a family that expects new food almost every day. Im probably getting takeout food at least 2 times per week now.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 9 months ago

It differs from person to person.

Is there a food service called Soylent these days? All I could think of is Soylent Green but that is an "unknown" substance from a movie.

I wouldn't mind eating that though.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 9 months ago (1 children)

Yeah there's a company that makes a nutritionally sufficient soybean-related sustenance slurry called Soylent. My understanding is it's perfectly survivable.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 9 months ago

Ah, interesting. Thanks for clearing that up.

[–] darganon 2 points 9 months ago (1 children)

Yeah, there's a long history but it sort of spawned from people wanted Bachelor Chow irl

[–] [email protected] 1 points 9 months ago

Thanks for clearing that up.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 9 months ago

Nice. Just what I need.

Just replace the treats with alcohol.

Have a heroin for breakfast, a heroin for lunch, and a sensible din... ... ...wait what was I say... ... ...oh heroin for lunch, hey do you have a cigarette? Wait I have two in the ashtray? Anyway, a sensible dinner it's healthy.

[–] betahack 4 points 9 months ago (1 children)

....but does it have flavor?

[–] samus12345 1 points 9 months ago

Not for another thousand years or so.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 9 months ago (1 children)

Definitely relatable, but is anyone else bothered by the extra steps they took? I really want to know because if it's just me then it gives me insight into myself.

They printed out the blurb, cut it into strips, and individually affixed each strip to the card, instead of just creating a document that has the "MY PERSONALITY" and lines and blurb all included and printing it all together.

If they wanted to not waste the cards, they still have the option of writing on them, as was originally intended.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 9 months ago (2 children)

They didnt cut strips, its from a label maker. It was one long continuous narrow strip at first.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 9 months ago

Except the last line... Probably a character limit on the label maker.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 9 months ago

Ah ok, not as bad as I thought then.
