Fortunately only Republicans are stupid enough to listen to their leader when they are told not to vote

You’d be surprised. Democrats are already less likely to vote than republicans are. There is a lot of “my vote doesn’t matter so why bother” rhetoric among poor democrats.
Not to mention the “gEnOciDe jOe” morons.
They’re gonna vote for him to prevent Trump again
I’ve spoken with MANY who say they aren’t.
I haven’t.
Well, I guess that must mean they don’t exist. Glad you cleared that up!
I’m sure they do, but “many” I dunno. They sound like morons who want Trump.
Yeah, no. This will trick a lot of people. Because they are idiots, regardless of who they align with politically.
You're spot on. The average voter is kinda uninformed about most issues. Think how dumb the dumbest 20% must be.
Exactly. Yosemite has said they have a hard time coming up with bear-proof trash cans just because "there is a considerable overlap between the intelligence of the smartest bears and the dumbest tourists," and those dumbest tourists who can’t figure out a trash can vote.
You also need to consider how motivated your average bear is, compared to a tourist putting trash away.
I don’t know. Democrats stay home over single-issue matters and stubbornness.
I wish.
Well somebody’s going to prison
Doubtful.
This is the sort of crime the feds take seriously. Like you aren’t winding up in uncle Ted’s old cell, but you’re definitely gonna spend some time in front of a judge
Doesn't this ultimately backfire and train ppl to not blindly follow information?
It goes both ways. They ignore real and fake messages
Yep, people only care about the truth when it is easily acquired.
And the government and the telcos let this shit happen because to fix it would cost rich people money and we can't have that.
Republicans will never stop trying to steal elections.
Seems like the vast majority of voter fraud crimes surrounding the 2020 election were engineered by Republicans. In my neck of the woods, all three caught voting with dead relatives' ballots were registered as Republican. Two ladies (R) thought they could register as their non-voting kids, and wouldn't have been caught except that the kids decided to vote. The sole Democrat was a guy who provisionally voted while he was still on parole.
Nationally, all the big vote tampering was done by Republicans.
I would hope that if people are voting for Biden that they are smart enough to not fall for these kinds of things. I could definitely see Trump supporters falling for something like this if Donald Trump called them, but I hope that Biden supporters are a little smarter.
Here we go again….and again
It starts... This will be the year to decide if we can have functioning information systems and safe, democratic elections in the emerging age of easy AI manipulation.
It's a bad sign that there are no widely, commercially available free tools (from governments or otherwise) to help us confirm the validity of these things. We likely need something as ubiquitous as "googling" to stand against the incoming avalanche of truly fake information.
There will be elections across the globe this year to truly test humanity. I'm hopeful, but I fear we aren't close to ready. Think about what you would do if you suspected a political manipulation was AI generated today? That's one aspect, and you're on Lemmy so you're likely a bit more capable with technology generally (and you probably still don't know what to do). Now, think about your grandmother in Milwaukee... what will she do?
I know this is bad and everything, but it is kind of funny.
I don't get it. How does a message telling Democrats not to vote help Republicans in the primary?
I think this is the reason:
New Hampshire holds closed primaries, which means Democrats and Republicans can only vote in their own party’s primaries. But independent voters, those who are not affiliated with either party, can vote in either primary — and they make up nearly 40 percent of New Hampshire’s electorate.
So really, independent voters who lean left are being encouraged to stay home. Presumably this helps the far-right candidate.
It's to throw off Nikki Haley winning the nomination. She's VERY popular in NH. I'm up there playing in the snow and ice every weekend and see a more NH than Trump signs.
This is definitely a plausible explanation but I'm trying to figure why those people would listen to Joe Biden
They are (I) voters that are likely to vote (D) in the general and there is a serious attempt to ratfuck Trump in NH by getting these left leaning (I) voters to vote Haley in the (R) primary.
So... this fake robocall is an Uno reverse card ratfuck trying to get those people to stay home.
This exactly. Hell, I live in MA and I'm trying to rat-fuck the primaries.
Gotcha, makes sense. Thanks
It doesn't, but they are too stupid to realize it
Now there's an idea. Let's do the same thing with Trump's voice. His base is stupid enough to obey.
What are democrats voting for, on tuesday? Isn't it the republican primary?
