I'm assuming this will be utter shit.

If I recall correctly, the original creators of Avatar bailed on this project because of creative differences so you're probably correct.

It's more likely bailed on it because Paramount offered them jobs as heads of a whole new studio for Avatar content.

As far as we know, Netflix wanted to boot them out because they hadnt been able to move the project forward for two years and still were in the concept phase. So they agreed on parting ways over "creative differences".

Yeah I have no idea why they keep trying to make a live action Avatar a thing

It's Netflix.

Of course it will be.

It'd be a waterskin I suppose.

I actually have high hopes for this. The Casting has been spot on I feel. Still concerned with why the Creators left, but I think it'll still be good. What I really want though is a new animated series from the creators about the gang in early adulthood.

I feel like a lot of Korra was their backlash to fan criticism.
I bet they're kind of tired of the avatar universe. Can you blame them? Coming up with a great idea in your early adulthood and then having that define you the rest of your life. Doesn't seem great from a creative standpoint to me

Tbf, both have had side projects after Korra, but they keep returning to the Avatarverse.

But there surely is a reason why their development for Netflix was so slow and the announced animated movies also take so long to release. Maybe they're tired, maybe they want to dive deep in development before production starts.. idk

The boomerang looks pretty dopey to me but other than that I like the look of things. I'm not getting my hopes up too much and I'm probably not gonna watch it but it seems neat.
