I was going to say something but it's a spoiler for the end of Ragnarok. Anyway, I trust them to make good creative decisions.

I would play them in order. The first has a better more personal story, and the second has a more expansive story and evolved combat. Together they tell the full Norse arch.

I didn't mind the ranged combat tbh, but hopefully this is an evolution of it in a good way. Compared to the Rock-Paper-Scissors combat of melee, I do agree that ranged was lacking. Perhaps you can still use a bow for lesser armored ranged foes, but will need the gun for more armored targets.

Not sure, I would wait for reviews. I tried to get into these in the 360 era and they were too difficult for me. Granted I was younger then also.

The sliders have me really considering this. I can't get into the souls games because they only offer one experience. I'm glad they've slowed down the gameplay as well. I liked the speed of the prior titles but it's nice to see them try and make each title unique

Yeah, I guess from my perspective it almost goes hand and hand with their 30th anniversary and is a celebration of all that came before. So I don't view it as an ad tbh. But I do agree that it'll be interesting to see what direction they take it with a sequel.
