Christ, I feel like I lost my mind. I don't know how I didn't understand that.
Don’t feel too bad. I recall there’s some study that when the color contrast of text is low, people find it harder to understand even when the text itself is straightforward. That red over colored textured jpeg is attrocious! 😭
Also, it needs a comma before "please."
