Is it just star trek and linux left?

[–] yokonzo 7 points 1 month ago (3 children)

Mainly, but some of the star trek stuff is pretty wholesome. Kinda makes me wanna finally watch it

I did not mean 'left to block', just 'left in the feed'

[–] yokonzo 1 points 1 month ago

Yeah that's what I assumed you meant

[–] daggermoon 7 points 1 month ago (1 children)

You haven't already? I grew up with that shit.

I mean, I used to watch some of the original one with captain kirk when I was young, but I never saw tng and all I had was cable and ADHD so I never was good at sticking to series

As an ADHD haver you also couldn’t do TV?

Me too! People look at me like I’m crazy when I say I don’t watch tv and with the exception of living with an ex or my mother previously I haven’t watched tv on my own in at least a decade+.

Closest I get is a couple YouTube videos from like vice news or something and then I give up and go read.

I really like Voyager actually. TNG is probably objectively the best though. With you on the ADHD though.

I mean it's better now but like most brain things, it's pretty bad as a kid, might check out both

Having run out of my previous set of late night easy viewing media, I recently started watching The Next Generation. Was surprised to discover it is actually a fun show (even the supposedly terrible first season), provided you enjoy the veneer of mild campiness inherent to television of the 80's-90's.

The show is also giving me hope that societal progress can never be stopped, since people were able to imagine this sort of reality in much more restrictive times than we have today. I just hope they're wrong about World War 3 beginning in 2026 🥲

Nah, they've got head and sand as well.
