imagine how you would better yourself if you were in a loving nurturing relationship. then start bettering yourself that way now, and your efforts will start to be noticed. people on the upswing are pursued.

But how do you know? You should recognise that your view of the world is based on your internal beliefs and not factual information. Defeatism isn't going to get you there.
