God is omnipotent yet allows incredible cruelty, and avarice to rule the world? I guess if you're a bible believer the end must be coming for a good purge is needed, no? Instead, somehow the end is not near?
You jest, but a large swath of right-wing evangelicals are actively trying to bring about the end times. My pet theory is that they are terrified of dying. So, if they bring about the end times, then Jesus will come back and rapture them. That way they get into heaven without having to die a nasty death first.
Anyone who believes that a magical, space version of Chip Gaines is going to miraculously appear and whisk them away to anywhere other than Waco, TX, needs to be ridiculed and institutionalized in a psych ward.

So their god can control the weather but he can't stop the demons from attacking with the same weather?
Just reading that headline physically hurt.
Every time they say shit like this, the question is "then why doesn't he do something about xyz killing thousands/millions per year".
To which their answer is either to turn around and walk away or say fucked up shit like "god works in mysterious ways".
It's the Epicurean Paradox.
If God is willing to prevent evil but is not able to, then he is not all-powerful. If he is able to prevent evil but is not willing to, then he is not all-good. If he is both willing and able to prevent evil, then why is there evil and suffering in the world?
They can't solve that paradox.
However, the Bible can. Very simply, the Bible clearly states that their god created evil.

I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the Lord do all these things.
Well, yes and no, creating evil doesn't equate letting evil happen run rampant. Either he's evil or indifferent, either way, not worthy of worship.
And in case of weather, weather isn't evil, it's just a force of nature, so it's still on him.
And if somehow "evil" is controlling the weather and he does nothing to stop it, he's still evil and it's on him.
No matter how they justify it, they worship evil.
I was going for 'not worthy of worship,' to be honest.
If God is in control of the weather, why is he making it hotter and hotter? We have graphs, we know it's heating up.
