Let's hope they manage it. Would suck if they accidentally prove that witches exist.

[–] Zoomboingding 7 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Suck? Sign me up for magic and I'll take my chances against the pyres.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Proving that this particular type of witch exist also proves that The Devil and Hell exist. I'm not super pumped for the societal ramifications of that.

If only we had a concrete answer about an afterlife and a method to guarantee admission. But yeah if the choice was fun magic now or eternal paradise, well bless us Lord for we have sinned.

Except the Sanderson sisters. We saw their villainy play out on tv so we know they’re guilty.

Their brother Brandon is clearly pulling some shenanigans as well

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Yeah, I've got a bone to pick with him. For reasons....

There is no proof that witches even exist, yet people were killed for being witches. Kind of like people are killed for believing in the "wrong" god. People really need to be thought how to think!

It's not "kind of like..." it's exactly the same. Witch trials were state-sponsored Christian extremists murdering innocent people.

[–] SkybreakerEngineer 9 points 1 year ago

More like state-sponsored lynching of women for the crime of saying no. Witch hunters had some wacky views on what women should be like.

I don't support killing people for witchcraft or anything, but why? Can the state of Massachusetts actually do anything?

[–] Chainweasel 15 points 1 year ago (1 children)

When it boils down to it, the state sanctioned the killings in the first place and all these people are asking for is some symbolic recognition of the victims, is that really too much to ask of the state?

But we checked, they all weighed the same as a duck.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

One turned me into a newt.

[–] Son_of_dad 5 points 1 year ago (1 children)

What's the point? Nobody thinks they were actual witches

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 year ago

We have people who think there are literal demons in the government. Some of them have to believe that witches are a real and present danger.

[–] cricket97 4 points 1 year ago

this is something very important that people should spend their time on
