Out of curiosity, what service do you use for this? I'm looking to make a purchase I'd rather not have tied to my bank account. I was going to go pick up a visa prepaid.

The one that comes to mind for me is Privacy.com, though it's a paid service. If you just want to have a random CC to get past those "we need a credit card to continue" paywalls, I recommend a fake person generator. They usually include a realistically fake CC
Looks like privacy has a free plan available at least. Up to 12 cards it looks like.
It's worth noting that if you use privacy for free trials, they limit you to 3 cards linked to the same "merchant" (detected by the first transaction that goes through). After 3 cards you have to contact support to reset the limit for that merchant, so the single transaction cards are only good if you never want to shop there again because they immediately burn 1 use out of the limit.
Revolut
Never was able to get approved on this platform and never told me why. I've heard it's quite problematic in US but works better elsewhere.
Interesting, in the EU it's been fine.
I miss the days where almost every credit card company had one that was connected to your account.
Discover had one. So did Citi....but now, it seems like it's only Capital One.
It's okay to buy fleshlights man. Gotta own it tho
Unfortunately many services now decline those single use credit card numbers.
Which is basically an admission that they'd like to charge you past the point of cancelation.
Well... Yeah. Otherwise they wouldn't ask me for a credit card for a free trial of a service. It's always been obvious that that's their aim, refusing a single use credit card isn't some big "gotcha" moment here. Free trials only exist anymore in order to steal money at the end of the trial period, counting on the user forgetting to cancel. This is a known quantity.
You could argue that the credit card could be used to prevent opening a new account as soon as the trial expires.
This is bullshit, but that's what I would say if i needed to defend douchebag business practices.
That and they don't want to spend money on someone who has no ability to pay in the first place.
So true...
Recently got a Visa gift card as a rebate from a tire purchase and I couldn't use it for ANYTHING online. It was really frustrating.
Also that's not how the reverse card works in official Uno rules. It simply changes direction. You can't reverse a penalty like a +2.
Which is a shame. I prefer alternate rules which change the plus cards rules to allow plays such as more +2's added on top, color appropriate skips and reverses, wild cards and +4's.
Wild cards simply pass the draw to the next player. Basically every face card can be used to counter draw cards, though usually by adding more danger. It just adds a level of skill and planning over a game where getting randomed by a +2 or +4 is just a loss.
This meme is awesome; Max Fosh is an absolute legend.
I’d be curious if a savvy ref could retort “You can’t play that, if the current color is yellow.”
I thought the same!
"Your credit card on file declined on our most recent attempted rebill, please update your payment info... or we're not friends anymore!"
I had a gym membership, and just because of horror stories I used a reloadable credit card to sign up. I went every day starting summer 2019 and was making progress, and then Covid happened and the gym closed.
But they kept trying to charge me, and wouldn't let me cancel because I had to do so in person, and the place was closed. So I just stopped putting money on the card after using what was on it to put gas in the car.
That has to be illegal.
it is
It kind of sort of is, in some places, as of very recently. During Covid this was a pretty common story.
To the Max!
Dude, there are yellow and red reverse cards in a Uno deck, WTF did you bring a green one for? :P
So glad that in my country almost all banks provide that service.
More like multiple xd
