MODERATORS
4chan is just a bunch of people pretending to be racist/homophobic/... for the lulz. Only a minority are hardcore trump supporters, neonazis, ...
My issue is even if that's true it kind of doesn't matter because it's making the people who are ACTUALLY racist/homophobic/name your bigotry flavor feel comfortable enough to be genuinely horrendous. Fucking with the Overton window like that ain't cool.
It's also just generally much easier to have and express extremist views when you're 14 years old. That shit usually gets unpalatable as your brain matures though, and you figure out why we don't actually live like the rest of the animal kingdom.
I'm more convinced the majority of crazy posts are by disinformation trolls that plague all social media now.
I simultaneously miss AmITheAsshole and think that it's almost all either made up for karma farming or people shitposting to make some marginalized group look bad.
Or weird sex stuff. Definitely a lot of it is some person's weird sex thing.
I thought this was well-known. They're trolls first and foremost - I'd like to cite the whole π-hand-symbol fiasco as evidence.

you can be an outright racist on 4chan ... if someone debates you, you can entertain yourself endlessly

The toilet seat argument with women. I understand that the toilet seat should be let down, but if I forget. There is no way in hell you should fall in. Most of the time I don't just let the seat down, but also the lid. No complaints there. How the hell is that any different? Either way you have to look first.

It's nowhere close to true even with the most revisionist views of history - what's also funny is the definition of white also isn't some set in stone thing and has changed greatly over time.
Colonialism absolutely fucked things up in large parts of the world (all of it?) but it wasn't just done by anglo/white dominant countries though England and Spain together account for a loooot of it.
