Calling it now. This is going to be too juicy to avoid airing live on every major news network, but Fox is going to mute most of the audio and have their commentators talk over it. That way their viewers can feel informed and say they watched the trial, all while safely continuing to live in a misinformation bubble.
That might be good too though. Like if a bunch of unreconstructed Trumpers vote Trump in the next election, and he's either jailed or not the candidate... that paves the way for a pretty easy Democrat victory.

If he had good lawyers, there would be no possible way in hell they would physically allow him to take the stand even if he insisted on it. Luckily for anyone rooting against him, he has truly terrible lawyers that know they're probably not getting paid at the end of this either way.
A great lawyer would just put a scale under the stand.

I can't remember which investigation it was while he was president, but the lawyers argued he's too dumb or incompetent to be deposed without perjuring himself. Eventually they agreed to 10 questions written and he was allowed lawyers with him to answer.
Any good lawyer will tell the court he isn't testifying and try to keep trump from talking in and out the court.
