Just filed a claim for my deleted account, thanks!

[–] oaklandnative 13 points 1 year ago

Me too. I love that in order to prove I have a claim for my deleted account, I can submit my email address. My account was deleted, Facebook. Why do you still have my email address? Why do you still have records tying it to my deleted account?

How much money do you get if you file?

$725 million divided by number of claimants.

I wish the website told you how many have filed so far so you could determine whether it's a waste of time or not.

kind of. from the research i did, the lawyer team can take up to 25% of that. so up to 180 million. and then there’s 8 plaintiffs that get 15,000 each. the leftover is divided amongst claimants. but i recommend anyone with a couple minutes (the submit claim form is very short) to fill out the claim. it shows bigger companies that people are actually doing their due diligence in keeping them in line. while i would love for very little people to claim so i can get a boatload, the point of these class actions, while compensation is good, is deterrence towards that company treating their consumers/customers like that again.

So taking that through to it's conclusion that leaves a pool of $544 million. If 1 million people sign up, you're getting $544, 10 million yields $54.40 and 100 million gives $5.45. So the question is, how many people do you think will sign up? My guess is somewhere between 10 and 100 million so you'll probably get about $10-$30

If this is US only absolutely no way in hell it hits 100 million. A majority chunk of those users are old, dead, don't engage in any media that would have told them about the class action, or are just too incompetent to fill out the simple form. I'd be surprised if it's much more than 10-30 million.

My partner got like $700 bucks last time one of these happened.

Just submitted my claim. Here's hoping for something mildly substantial.
