Will it be possible to travel to Canada for a flu shot? Or does Canada use US shots? How does that work?

The US health system is going to be tested like never before with RFK at the helm of health. People will die. Children will die. People are dying because we allow moronic exceptions for "personal beliefs".

The blood of the dead will be on many hands from Trump to RFK to the creators of Project 2025 and many more. But most especially I'll personally blame the single issue voters who couldn't see the forest for the trees and didn't vote against Trump by voting for Kamala.

People have already died. RFK has a huge body count already (see Samoa). It will rise.

They don't care, not sure how much clearer they can make it. I agree with you though.

Part of them don't care. A bigger part simply don't understand. People are being blasted with misinformation and they don't have the tools to filter through it. The bottom 30% in cognitive competence are on the brink of mental disability. That's 100 million voters.

You can be mad at them but it'd be like being mad at a kid with down syndrome that ends up being a conservative because they like monstertrucks and wrestling and the ads between their shows tell them to be.

Fuck those who create and spread wrongful information. They're the cancer of the current age.

I know that people think I’m insane and that’s OK but flu shots help prevent the same sort of illness that killed millions back in 1917 till about 1920.

I used to think getting the flu shot was pointless and got at least a little sick every year. Then I started preaching about how we have to get the covid shot and felt like a hypocrite so I started getting the flu shot with my covid booster every year. I haven't gotten sick since. It works and it's so easy to get! For now...

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 hours ago

The "flu shot" tends to be variable in it's effectiveness from year to year. It's a guessing game the CDC play with those virii. They are/were trying to guess what the vaccine needs to be months in advance. This year it seems they missed a bit and it didn't work quite as well.

The future seems bleak on having those shots available for the foreseeable future.

[–] [email protected] 14 points 13 hours ago

This is the first year in many that I actually got the flu, and it sucked. Yearly shots and all, this is just a rough year, and of course it's the year that we abandon it all.

[–] jordanlund -3 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

Flu shot this year seems super ineffective... Got the shot, got the flu, my wife got some other virus, I got over the flu then got her virus, got over that and got the flu AGAIN.

I've basically been sick for a month. Crawled into a NyQuil bottle for quite a bit of that.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 2 hours ago

There are multiple strains every year, the shot has a mix of the most prevalent ones, you could have caught a rarer strain.

You can feel special, you got the rare shiny variant of the flu!

lol wow. I’m gonna have to plan a trip north of the border to get my fucking flu vaccine? Holy shit.

Edit: not sarcastic. I would do that, particularly in the context of “the entire country isn’t vaccinated”

[–] [email protected] 7 points 13 hours ago (1 children)

By that time, will we even be welcomed, or even allowed, to cross any borders? Not by our own government, but others.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 13 hours ago

But also, maybe by our own government too.

[–] [email protected] 21 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

Makes me sad that anyone would call you insane for typing this comment.

[–] Placebonickname 3 points 8 hours ago

Well, I’ve been insane for all sorts or reasons, I thought iPods would never sell, and that if they followed the first books, “Harry Potter” would be a cinema flop.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 11 hours ago

This is going to be bad. Everything has been, but with as easily as the flu can be spread, this is going to grind a lot of shit to a hault when the season kicks off.

[–] Sanctus 5 points 12 hours ago

Its a nation of thieves, selling their souls for gold.

[–] [email protected] 28 points 15 hours ago

this motherfucker is going to kill us all, he's starting with your babies, parents and grandparent who won't be able to find a vaccine to keep them safe, unless they're rich. i don't know why americans aren't rioting yet, guess not enough people died the last time trump was in charge. the loved ones of all that died from the inept covid response, voted trump back into office. didn't even hear it come up as an election issue. start buying shares in morticians, funeral homes, and cemeteries cause i'ts comin, as night follows day

[–] [email protected] 9 points 13 hours ago

Sick, weak, stupid, misinformed, the American way!
