What a cool way to die.
Comic Strips
Comic Strips is a community for those who love comic stories.
The rules are simple:
- The post can be a single image, an image gallery, or a link to a specific comic hosted on another site (the author's website, for instance).
- The comic must be a complete story.
- If it is an external link, it must be to a specific story, not to the root of the site.
- You may post comics from others or your own.
- If you are posting a comic of your own, a maximum of one per week is allowed (I know, your comics are great, but this rule helps avoid spam).
- The comic can be in any language, but if it's not in English, OP must include an English translation in the post's 'body' field (note: you don't need to select a specific language when posting a comic).
- Politeness.
- Adult content is not allowed. This community aims to be fun for people of all ages.

My mom was legitimately concerned that I would confuse video games and real life when I was a kid. I have no idea where that fear came from, but I heard adults expressing it all the time.
That fear came from the media. (Or social network bots, same thing. But at the time, the bots weren't there.)
Like almost every time you hear everybody repeating some idea that is obviously stupid.
(As an aside, oddly enough, kids had that problem with TV. But not video games, for many reasons.)
Well, people are enthusiastically getting tangled up with sub-par virtual girlfriends right now. So, there’s a kernel of truth to the fear. Even if on balance, it’s misdirected concern for your mental health.
You can totally do this, just be sure to reload your save file first before to make sure it’s good.
Wise. If you don't test your backups, you don't have backups.
Video game bad?
Nah, just an intrusive thought illustrated in comic form.
Yup, this is what my parents think happens when you play computer games.
Skill issue tbh.
An open bridge like that is too steep and acts as a wall.
So you need to drive over it while it's going up.
sigh
<Reloading ...>
Me with elder scrolls always saving before a decision so I can roll back to see what the other choice does, then having the quick thought while in life that I should quicksave
Blues Brothers did it. If they could do it then you can do it, too.
Win-win seems like.
Skill issue
Until we get to the point of realistic full dive virtual reality that is indistinguishable from real life, this is an irrational fear.
Only because we're all NPCs waiting for the player character.
It's okay if you got continues
There are plenty of people that never played any video games that are way more cavalier with their lives than people that play "too much" video games. In fact, I would be willing to bet that there is an actual linear corelation there.
A fear is a fear and it's valid in that sense. But if it helps at all, there is no supporting logic.... since that always works to dispell fear....
Oh but I don't need videogames for this particular situation. The Blues Brothers already taught me this is the coolest way to cross a bridge.
So this is why that jack thompson, lawyer guy hated games so much.
Wulrus thinks this would actually work out. Better speed up now than in 10 seconds. Also, water is pretty safe, safer than land.
Ooooh I relate to this one
